those are definitely available.

Because the AE x rings come from a superior Chinese factory?

That's not Mason's point. He' giving me crap saying I should do a full rebuild, not just rings, because I hit stuff. Or at least he thinks I hit stuff... I prefer the term 'rub':D

Thumb screws to replace the nuts used for the battery hold down?....And GO!

Davidka 03-08-2017 08:13 AM

I'm assuming the o/x-ring talk is tongue-in-cheek but on a serious note, I recall Chad Due commenting a while back that with the V2 bodies, the bore diameter for the seals changed and the Traxxas x-rings are no longer good with AE shocks.

One thumb screw, one nut. Redundant redundancy...

I'm having trouble getting the steering/rotation I want from my B6d. Currently my setup mirrors most of the standup setups I'm seeing for B6/B5m. The car is super easy to drive, mostly because I feel like I am waiting for it to finish turns (lot's of time to thing about when to pick up the throttle). I've added anti-squat and will try lighter shock oils to get a little more weight transfer.

If I go +1mm on the rear hub (currently @ 0) insert & front spindle, will this roll center change add steering and free up the rear a little?

They would but they're hideously large and have the recess for the o-ring blah blah..I ordered some HB ones from their 413 that I'll remove the orange anodizing from.

I rebuild my transmission and shocks once a season.
I'll have to do it even less if I'm racing on an indoor high bite clay track. Then I wait longer.

Ya know what happens when you get in a hurry to put your buggy back together after fixing the gear diff? You realize the rear arms are on backwards (and all that was left was to add the sway bar) @#$%*&^ Time to tear it down and switch the arms around.

I removed the stock battery screws and used some longer screws and cut the head off them. Then threaded them on to the posts by using 2 nuts and then removed. I finished it off by using the thumb screws from a B5m. Much better fit for the batteries and much more snug. I ran into a problem with using the slim batteries and then using a normal size shorty. Takes to much time to adjust the posts every time. Works like a charm now and much easier to remove. Not sure why AE went away from the old design. It doesn't rub or touch the body either.

I feel like this car is a dog also. takes forever to turn.

Would the +1 steering block arms help with the steering?

Depends on what you mean by help? It will change the steering for sure.
The +1 adds Ackermann so at full lock the outside wheel will turn less than with the standard.
