Received my Exotek 3 gear laydown setup yesterday and did a very quick, easy install. Other than drilling and countersinking 3 holes went together very easily. Case is a piece of art and is super free once installed.
Giving it a day of setup testing tomorrow. Will report back.

im really interested in giving the case a try, i may have to order one in a day or two. i wish they could make a non laydown version for us clay guys, i loved the mip box on the b5m and really wish the 3.0 had something similar, nothing beats aluminum or machined delrin for accurate and free flowing transmission cases

I am very curious as well. Also will you be running it in 17.5 or mod?

Are you guys getting the laydown for carpet or are some of you running it on high-grip clay?

Hi, I have a question for Frank about his Reedy race setup. Is the sheet correct in regards to the oils used in front and rear shocks?
Thanks, Warren.

So I was pretty happy where this ended up and I'm going to leave it in. Changes from my stock setup were lowering the car 1mm all the way around, went up 1 spring in the front, and removed the outside stud spacers on the Hubs in the rear. Also slowed down steering speed a bit to even out the response.
Running this with 17.5 on ocrc clay - medium high bite.
As expected it had a ton of steering and rear became a bit loose due to the weight transfer to the front. Changes above got it back to where I like it. Was able to match my fast lap time from a race night in practice so should be dialed under normal race conditions. Track was a bit loose and dusty (lots of 8th scales running yesterday).
As stated earlier build was great and case quality was amazing.

i have my exotek transmission on the way, i emailed them about he possibility of an aluminum one for the dirt guys and he said if people showed enough interest they would do it.
so if you guys like the idea feel free to email exotek about it.
i used the mip box on a b5m and was very impressed by how freely the transmission rolled. for stock class making your car light really isn't the big deal, its all about reducing rolling resistance and rotating mass as much as possible as well as cooling your motor so you can throw some crazy gearing on it.
i also finally got the time to go racing, its been over a month since i last raced and i was a little rusty. but i ran my 3.0 in stock for the first time and i am very impressed with the car so far. i am running the dakotah pend reedy race setup with some spring and oil changes and so far i am really enjoying the way the car feels currently.
the yz2 body fits pretty good on there, im liking how it feels on the track as well
