This might be a really dumb question....but what all do I need for a 3 gear conversion for my t5m I just got? From my understanding I need the motor plate, gear cover, and gear box. Is that right?

I went to AE web site and looked and answered my own question. Yes they take the same shocks and springs.

stock kits come with the standard 12mm big bores in the t5m. and the truck springs in the sc5m. but yeas they can be swapped back and forth. make sure you use corresponding spring cup for the truck springs

I went down 2.5 to 5 in shock oils and 1 or two springs. A lot lighter.

I'm using one here for MOD was previously running it with a 13.5 and a shorty with lighter shock oils and spring tuning. I just went back to the box stock setup and a square pack for my new race setup with a 9.5. I'll report back once I know how it goes.

I was told by Paul at X-Factory that their chassis is good for mod or stock you would just have to adjust the flex in it. However Jason Snyder said it would be to lite for mod and flex to much so, I guess it all depends on you individual driving style and your track.

Got mine on the track for the first time today. Wow this truck is amazing. I did switch to new truck springs, green on front and rear, the change was huge. Way smoother in jumping and landing with the truck springs. First day out and already running as good as my B5m and 22 3.0

I don't know why I didn't realize I had to lighten the suspension... I was running something similar to kit set up, but with the XFactory CF chassis which I now realize was too stiff for the lightweight. I thought I would start with just lightening the oil and went 30 front and 25 rear and it was perfect with the blue front white rear springs! The truck is much more forgiving and doesn't break loose in the turns anymore.

hello all just curious what will change if i go to a lighter front spring? i have white on there now gona go to green.

You'll get more initial turn in due to more weight transferring forward on braking. Too much weight transfer forward and the rear end can break loose. Without getting overly technical, changing the springs on the front of the vehicle will affect off-power steering. Changing springs at the rear will affect on-power steering. You can also experience nose down jumping if the front end is compressing too much.

Hey guys, just finished my T5M build, and I am looking for some tires recommendations. I am a buggy guy so this whole truggy thing is new to me.

The track that I am looking to run on is indoor clay, smooth, relatively high bite and sometimes wet.

Stadium truck guy, truggies are 4wd...

I would say Ions, Dirtwebs, Pressure Points, or Chain Links. Pretty much any small tread height tire. In either clay or super soft/Ultra soft compound.
