TLR 22-4 THREAD

I'm going to assume for the moment it's not the motor. It is a brand new Reds. I'm going to try to rule all else out before going to another motor.

I'm having an issue with my 22-4. When I am on the throttle 3/4 or better I hear a higher pitched sound, a sound I thought sounds like the same sound Hodges displayed when he was setting the slipper. I can't get enough speed to clear a simple double, and down a straight it doesn't gain the speed I know the car is capable of. I thought it might be the rear belt, so I set it at a tight setting. That didn't fix it so I thought it would be the slipper not being set tight enough. I tightened the slipper so the screw went slightly past the nut. Still have the same problem. Any ideas?
The motor is a 6.5 and the ESC is an Orion R10 pro... it should have plenty of power to clear a double and haul down a straight.

You may have a pinion that has been machined slightly out this can also cause the noise you are hearing.

Maybe it's the slipper, but I have it tighter than most people already. The screw is slightly past the nut.

Roots method can be found on youtube. I did a quick search of 22-4 diff setting.
17 seems a little low to me, i run a 21 on my 6.5 and a 19 on my 5.0
Also to cover all options i would remove the slipper assembly and throughly check everything and reassemble per the manual just to be safe. Its possible a part got flipped in the wrong direction. While its apart i recommend doing the tech tip on sanding the slipper shaft by Jose. Much smoother clicker when completed.
