looking forward to seeing the new parts. The chassis works quite well and the motor mount is a big plus.

Discontinued
I haven't been to HPI's web site for a while but I an really surprised that they would drop the D413. It is a really fun car to drive. It is time for a last time buy for parts.
There likely coming out with a new updated model of it even so the parts will
Still be around for a while heck I have a D812 and parts are still around .
HPI -> HB Racing
I thought the same thing but found out HB Racing just split away from HPI. So the car is not discontinued. Visit HBracing website.

yeah looks like HPI as far as there direction goes are going more basher oriented.
If HB Racing sticks with the race side of things and doesn't pull a Durango by dropping its team, they should be fine. Just gotta keep on top of things with releases and parts.

I want one of those Exotek chassis so dang bad. I was thinking of getting one with the split diff this weekend. But I keep making myself stop because I know the eb410 is around the corner. Unless however I find a deal I can't refuse

yeah, one came in a big nib package I bought, and then I saw a deal on this one. Yeah it was tough to spend the dough but I didn't spend much in the first place so I am okay about it. The cars performance helps too.

Purchased a used D413 about a month ago. I've slowly been piecing things together to get the buggy how I "think" I will want it! Having not run it yet, (other than in the house testing out the ESC/Servo/etc!/LOL), I have no idea how I will feel about it. I haven't raced in about 25 years, so I have my work cut out for me! I'm going to try and take it to the track today and give it a go. The buggy came with the Avid aluminum chassis, and an Exotek steering rack, but that's about it as far as upgrades were concerned. Following this thread, I've added the following
Exotek aluminium shock caps (Front)
HB aluminium shock caps (Rear)
Exotek aluminum center diff brace
VRP 1.3 x 3 pistons in the rear
I bought a Type-R body and painted it a couple days ago.....It's been a while since I used the liquid mask and rattle cans, but it came out okay (from a distance!). Up close you can certainly see the lines aren't as clean as they need to be. It's actually orange in the back, but the picture makes it look red.
Looking forward to reporting back the buggy's performance!

Well, I didn't have a chance to run more than 1 pack as I had to hurry up to get home to catch the NHL playoffs! That said, here's my impression:
WOW!
My last racer was a Losi 2WD buggy back in the 90s. At that time I only ran stock. I also never ran a 4WD buggy......until today! I have a 6.5T Orion motor powered by a HW X10 Pro. Not only was this my first time running the buggy, but it was the first time running on this track. I gotta say, I don't know what I would want to change. I honestly think the buggy is fine. It seemed pretty hooked up. There were a few guys running 1:8 scale buggies and a guy that I've seen at the track often, running a AE 4WD buggy. I felt a little uncomfortable only because it's been sooooo long. I have the 1.3 VRPs in the rear and certainly seemed like the rear was planted when driving through some choppy sections of the track. I may be crazy, but the track is having a race this weekend (they don't have regular weekend club races), and I may actually try to race!!
