Nitro2be: do you have the parts number for the xb4 short bushings you mentioned to take out some slop? Thanks in advance.

I had issues with the stock spring perches, and not just the mud guard version. I have not had a single spring pop off or an eyelet pop loose since I upgraded to the Exotek version. I'm starting to think the wing mounts were a bad call for guys like me who have a tendency to tumble here and there, they rip through wings. I do love my Exotek spur gear, and will definitely be running it as soon as I get my hands on another gear.

The spring perches had me for awhile...No joke I was loosing one every time I drove the car...It was driving my crazy.
I knew something had to be up...cause I never really heard about on here or at the track. So I pulled out the manual and sure enough..there is a right way and wrong way to install the bushing to the shock eyelet..which if you put it on backwards(like i did) the spring perches had the slot facing forward and not backward.
Once I fixed that...i haven't had one pop off.

Can somebody school me a little bit on gearing?
I currently run 72/21 with a 5.5 motor, my FDR is 11.34 and some change. If I were to run it at 68/20, it would be 11.25 or 10.71 at 68/21. What are the effects of changing to the 68 vs the 72? I want the car to continue to run cool and kick ass without being uncontrollable.

going smaller on the spur is like going bigger on the pinion.
In conclusion don't waste your time.

68/20 would be almost negligible. 68/21 would be faster. Why bother changing the spur? Just use a different pinion. I think they make the small spur for 13.5 motors so you can fit a larger pinion on the mount.

So I ordered a schelle +4 chassis. I think the buggy drives really good with the stock chassis and some setup changes. Numerous people have said the +4 chassis makes a big difference. I will report back after I race with it this weekend.
