I said from the moment it was announce that it was a 3-piece design that it would not hold up sadly it seems and I was right. Everyone at my track running the 413 has cracks all over their lids where those tiny screws hold the side pods to the cabin. This method has been in use in RC for as long as I can remember and its great while it holds together, but lexan isn't the most durable of substrates, a even less so with a small hole out towards the edge.

For what it's worth though, it is one gorgeous and superbly designed lid!

What you guys can do to make it more durable is use to shoe goo and mesh at those seems so the load doesn't fall on the screw points.
A small bead of shoe-goo at the seam of the joining pieces works really well to help hold things together.

Well, it looks a metric shit ton better than the JC body, lol. Also, I have no idea if it is the body or temperature drop. But my car came off at 115 deg after a full back. I have NOT vented the body outside of the standard cut out. It might be the drop in temps, but i would not say the track was cold. I live in Arizona and raced indoors lol. It was probably low 70's at the track.

I do like the "look" of the kit body. But it sits lower and can make wiring a little more of a pain. But the kit body "looks" the faster sitting on the wall before the race, lol.

No love for the JC body yet it looks like. I like the look of the stock shell but don't know if its worth having it done by my painter or just do it solid myself and have him do up a 1pc

actually I have! Previous employer build solid rocket fuel mixers for the space program. Mil-spec is a blast also. We've got a pretty nice inspection lab here at work. Obviously climate controlled, but big enough to CMM most houses. Lol

I have had no issue with the stock body. Ran it it all summer at 1/8th scale outdoor track (since May), and it still looks good. It has a small crack in it down near the bottom, but that is it. I was a bit skeptical of the three piece body, but if you think about it, isn't every short course body three pieces? (bolt on fins) I have some SC bodies with the fins mangle down to nubs, but they are still attached. The stock body is Sofa King sexy, I will stick with it. BTW... I am not a "master driver", I wreck plenty.

I just started building one of these new d413 kits! What front wheels you guys running? I read 22 2wd wheels but was told to run 22-4 wheels by someone else. So im little confused. Thought the car was designed off of 22 wheels.

First post in the thread has a pretty good description of which wheels fit.

I have read it. Let me ask it this way 22 vs 22-4 wheel what is the difference? Is the overall outside track width the same?
