Well I ordered my kit over the weekend
I also ordered the proline body for my painter to paint. I tried to figure out some gearing and I'm having issues. I went on http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/top_speed.html and entered all the info I could. I picked up a tekin 6.5 and I'm racing at my local carpet track. According to Amain the motor is 6750kv but I'm getting crazy speeds. Does anyone have any suggestions for gearing?
Thanks!

I use to run all Tekin but couldn't keep dropping the cash when I wanted to try a new vehicle. I've been running turnigy trackstar motors I'm my 2wd buggy and 4wd buggy. I run a 9.5 in 2wd and 7.5 in 4wd buggy and they are awesome. Motor's are $36 on hobbyking and if you need esc go with turnigy trackstar turbo 120a esc and program box. Esc and box will run you around 56 dollars total. I haven't had a issues with mine but remember you get what you pay for so don't expect Tekin warranty with it lol.

Update.....
I apologize for the delay on your order. I held it up a week so I can get you the latest piston design. Unfortunately, the Red Silicone Valve we have been using has shown a weakness in the colder temps of 'winter' racing. And in the spirit of offering the highest quality part, I felt the need to correct the issue was important enough to hold orders for a short period.
I finalized the new design yesterday. The new Valve will be made out of a rubber material that is 20 times stronger than Silicone and equally as flexible. They are much more chemically resistant and will most likely last forever. We will factory assembled the piston as one piece. And the functionality of it will be exactly the same as before.
The shop worked over the weekend to get new pistons made so they can be sent out on Monday/Tuesday. Also, fyi: anyone who purchased the original red silicone valved pistons will automatically get a new set of V2 pistons in the mail. This technology works very well and I'm committed to making a great product and having the service to go with it.
Thanks,
Mike

On the decks I did not like the front split deck and felt it wasn't needed so more than likely I will only offer a split rear and solid front delrin or no front at all. Not sure yet. My test car had a bad motor and the owner is AWOL! So I have no way to test right now.

cool. marcus. i think with the derlin straps and avid chassis it will be great for our low-med bite texas tracks.
