I just finished putting my car together. my left rear driveshaf bottoms out in the out drive before the shock does. And the front driveshaft looks like it's about to fall out at full droop. Yes I realize the front and rear driveshafts are different lengths, and the longer one goes in the front. Iso everyone's car like this?

Ran my car for the first time tonight and it was very good! I did not run the stock set up but it was as fast as another in stock settings. I went to more rear toe in, forward swept front arms and 1.5mm behind the stud on the steering rack. I did not like the rack adjustment so Im going to no spacers next week.

my method of just removing 0.001" was for measurement only, once its figured out i would not do it such small increments....
i shot a mail to integy, maybe they will make some, and thats the last on that subject from me...back to D413 :-)

In Europe it's nearly impossible to get the stock shock caps, so i decided to get me the AE b5 aluminium caps BUT!! Damn expensive,- almost $100 with all you need to make them fit.
My big stash of parts is the only reason i dont sell this beautiful thing and buy a X-ray xb4 2015 when it's released soon.
SO does anyone know if i can make the Kyosho ZX6 shocks fit my D413 ?

For bashing black is a popular choice. On the track I like white or yellow - like Marcus I prefer to be able to see the rim and tire move as I steer: it also makes suspension movement (i.e compression through a corner) stand out more.

I just about finished up building my chassis yesterday. You guys aren't kidding on the steering slop and I even filed by bushings down a bit. How are you guys setting your toe up front?
I was disappointed with the CV joints for the driveshafts going to the wheels too. My front joints were binding really bad when I first built them. Had to take them back apart and work on them with some fine sandpaper so they were smooth. One of the rears needed a little work too but nothing like the fronts.
Should be able to get my electronics installed this evening and hopefully make it out to the track in the next few days.
I have my shocks 99 percent built per the manual but not filled. I'm thinking about going emulsion with them after reading comments in this thread. If I do, should I still start with the pistons and oil weight specified in the manual?
Thanks,
Chris

1. i got mine from an UK online shop, easy.
2. The aluminium caps dont fit well, waste of money.
3. Kyosho shocks are too small.
4. Selling the car because of the shock caps?

2. Ok- Thanks
3. Damn!!! Are you sure ? If i run 3mm inside limiters on my d413, would the Kyosho not be spot on ?
4. Not just the caps, also the rest 30% of the parts are "out of stock".

That is done on purpose because they are thicker and the sidewall is parallel. stock pistons are molded plastic, round edged not flat and soft. With the side of the piston straight you get less stiction on the shaft. They are exactly how i designed them to be!

Those pistons work...let my buddy, local A main driver, race the D413. I think the pistons made the suspension more planted. He was TQ and won with the car. I think the car is really good also, but Rob can win with a Radio Shack Golden Arrow!!

Understood but in this case I am the one programming and machining these particular parts! On the industrial side of the shop we have 13 employees and its a circus all day long!! Not sure if you have ever had to deal with a NASA project or not but we do at least 2 a year and it will make you pull your hair out, We cant even do inspections on days where the humidty is too high or too low!
I spend alot of time at the track trying all kinds of tolerances . I was at the track yesterday for 8 hours just playing with oils and piston thickness' In my research i have found that with 10th scale they feel better with looser PTW clearances than 1/8 scale.
