Also, i've shattered two esc fans and a much more motor fan from chassis slap at my track. That's with 24mm collar set clearance and the heavier springs I have to use.

Check your setup. For me I made some change to help calm down the steering. Set up the center steering link on Ty's set up sheet December 2013 four OCRC testing. I made a change and it calmed the steering down a lot. Also tires.

I decided to play around with other manufacturer shocks and found that the AE Sc10 front a rear shocks fit on the D413. All you need is some additonal hardware and some limiters and you are good to go. Suspension is nice an plush now. Just wish I can anodize the blue to orange

For custom ago work go to PBNation in the voided warranty section and contact any reputable anodizer for a quote. I'd guesstimate something like that would run you about $40-$50 to make orange but I'd suggest you send in an original orange part for color matching. Usually they can really close, if not exact.

Caps snapping off is a reason. Some folks have reported in here they've had that happen. Also Associated shocks are really good, in fact one of the best in the biz. Perhaps the Associated shocks brought back a familiar feeling for him that he prefers one the HB shocks.

that was exactly why I swapped them out. I dint want to take the chance with the shocks popping off during a run. As far as the quality of the shocks, the AE shocks feel so much smoother than the stock shocks. I have made all the changes I can possibly think to the HB shocks, and cant seem to get them to how I like them. I'll report back this weekend on how they performed.

I know the color of the shocks do not match the car, but hey, its not a fashion show...LOL

i run the car in saddle pack setup, with a 5.5t speed passion competition motor, you have to fiddle about abit with the motor plugs in the rear of the motor to make it fit, but it works.

to clubmates also run it in saddle, with LRP and Tekin motors with no problems.

Turnigy trackstar motors are to long (about 63mm long)

So is it just a weight savings that people are running it with a shorty? I was thinking of running mine with a saddle when I get one.

mostly for weight and responsiveness i would guess, i just have alot of saddles so i stuck with them, i also think it helpes me on our bumpy astro tracks with keeping the buggy planted

Just received red front and rear HB springs. Going to give them a go to see if it stops the body slap.

I've been using a shorty indoors and love it so far. Just need to be aware that the car will be more nimble and drive it accordingly.

Seems like all the parts at Tower have been moved out to early or mid June. Not that I have a need for spares but I really want to try the CF arm inserts but unfortunately they are one of the parts scheduled for mid June.

With a shorty my car is 70-100g lighter, is balanced 45/55 F/R and almost a perfect 50/50 L/R. With saddles it is closer to 50/50 F/R and off by about 12% L/R.

So for me I prefer the rear weight bias and more even L/R balance of the shorty.
