Amain and Tower are now posting late June. I'm not certain that Tower is completely at fault. I do find customer service at Amain to be friendlier. I have it back ordered in both places though. Does anyone know if another manufacture has something comparable in the works?

I don't know of anything comparable to the d413 that is coming out soon. I would wait it out and make sure to get this buggy when it is available for you.

The V3 motors are plenty good and mine have never had overheating issues.
The drift motor with the built-in fan is pretty slick too. Speed Passion is always working on new things. I'm sure the V4 won't disappoint. Although I LOVE their connectors, I was hoping they'd relocate them so they all sit together because it makes for a slightly cleaner look.

Late June... I consider cancelling the pre-order although there is no real alternative on the market. We'll see...

Sure there is, Team C TM4. It doesn't come with a center diff, but the center diff conversion is hitting the market any day now. The TM4 is $330 at the current Team C sale price, so cost will be about the same once you add the center diff.

I used to have an Ansmann/TeamC truck that broke as soon as a butterfly would unfold its wings two miles away. Most likely things will have improved a lot, but their cars still break nearly as often as the Durango stuff in our racing series.
To be honest, they could win three world championships in a row, but I'd still be biased and wouldn't touch anything TeamC in the coming century.
If it wasn't for the D413 I wouldn't consider getting a wheeler at all (except maybe a B-Max4III, cough!)

I've never had a problem with my Team C stuff, my Evo actually holds up better than any other 1:10 buggy I've owned. But I certainly understand where you're coming from. It only takes one bad vehicle to turn you off to a brand.

    What...you don't won't a borderline explosive B44.2?

Thanks! Was wondering if setups were straying away from 100K
    Center!
