I only run Tekin products, because of their CUSTOMER SERVICE FIRST and their RELIABILITY second. I'm sure the top factory drivers want the best products and I truly believe that is what Tekin delivers.
BTW. I am NOT sponsored by Tekin. |
Finally
I got my kit a few days ago and decided today to start putting it together. Nothing new, so far the build has been smooth as silk like all the Tekno kits I've had the pleasure dealing with. I'll post some pictures as soon as my painter gets done with the body. Speaking of the body, I LOVE it! It's going to look so awesome flying off a big jump, so sleek. This time of year I'll have to drive 130 miles north to Tacoma RC Raceway to run it indoors. Can't wait!!!
One thing I forgot, I bought my kit direct from Tekno they threw a skull cap in with my kit. thanks' Tekno that's pretty cool! I got to wear it for about a min until my wife spotted it, looks like I lost my cap. That's ok it looks better on her than on my fat head. LOL |

I thought it might be too tight. I would have used one too, but bought a VTX8.

Or maybe it's because they're sponsored by them and they're paid to run it. That's pretty much how it works.
When your a racer you run and conduct your program like a business. You surround your self and program with the best possible products to put you in the best position to win. You associate your brand with others that do business the way you believe it should be done. I didn't sent out 7 resumes to electronics manufactures to see who would help me out. I sent out one and I sent it to a company I'm proud to represent. Same with Tekno. I'm not putting a sticker on me, my car, or my pit unless believe they are doing the best they can to be the best they can, and they can help me be the best I can! |
I've been trying to get as much info about this truck and look forward to build pics and hopefully videos and feedback about the truck. Let's get back on topic and take the esc specific talk to other threads.
Sorry to be that guy. |

Really... I'm sponsored by Tekin and they don't pay me.

The build is awesome and I like the new diff shims. Finished for tonight and will finish the rest in the morning. I'll send the body off to Joe for paint and will be up and running soon.

Raced my et48 for the first time tonight it is amazing if you like how the eb48 and sct410 drive you will really like this I actually turned faster lap times with my truggy than my buggy I did make some changes to the kit. I raised the roll center to center hole on inside all the way around took out steering limiters completely stood the front shocks up a little more and tomorrow I'm gonna swap out diff fluids to 10/15/5 definitely wouldn't go any lighter on shock oil might even go a bit higher. I'm running on an indoor probably 80x120 smooth medium traction will try and get a setup sheet posted after I do some more tuning tomorrow. Unfortunately wasn't able to get good video as the qualifier that was recorded my t8 gen 2 end bell blew apart about a minute into the race amazingly I put it back together and works fine and I did still tq and won the 10 minute main by a lot

I'm so jealous!

We had a big club race last night and I too got to try my truggy out. Box setup and it did very well. Gotta tweak a few small things here and there but first outing it did well. I was in the A Main (we had 20+ truggies) and about 3-4 laps into it my motor came loose and ate the spur.
Couple hardware things I have noticed so far: keep an eye on the hinge pin inserts as I did a few SPECTACULAR cartwheels and noticed a little play in the inserts. When you make the body up make sure to put shoe goo and the drywall type stuff where the front shock towers will hit the body. Didn't do it on mine and 4-5 battery packs made some holes in the body. The rest of the body held up real well, even when I landed on it and it bent it in pretty good on the roof it came back out after pushing on it. had a rear input gear bearing dust shield come off so had to replace both bearings. had a rear shock end break on one of the cartwheels mentioned above. |

Will I get one? I don't know yet. The characteristics that it shares with the EB48 are the same ones that I don't like. There not as bad as the buggy but they are still there. I will say it will be between the ET48 and the mbx6tr for my choice of etruggy. |
I got to drive a couple laps with the et48 with the box setup. The truck drove very nicely
I think the spring may have been a little too soft for out track, but it wasn't bad at all. Between the truck I drove and mullets, I noticed they both had some minor setup differences in the hinge pin insets I.e. orientation. The one I drove had a lot of turn in and pushed a little on exit. I believe it could easily be tuned to get a linear stable steering feel...... I wouldn't say it drives revolutionary, but it should definitely be considered by anyone who is looking to buy an e truggy. If I were to buy a new truggy, this would be the one for sure. |
