Nice! I got my truck for my b-day in July. You'll have a blast with it.

Did some work on my vehicle. Installed my servo and ESC. Waiting on Motor to come in hopefully today.

Also looking for that setup to be released to try.

I did have one mishap, the previous owner must have some amazing loctite. even when heating up the screw I couldn't get it out so had to dremel slot it after I popped the hex on the screw with my wrench (AE hex driver, so not crap) when it wouldn't move. got it out but put a small nick in the otherwise beautiful chassis :(

Also pulled the center diff to put in diff fluid as well as steel gear I have on the way. don't think previous owner did a clean out as it was dark so debating doing the front and rears as well.

All in all though, vehicle looks like its barely used.

For your basher usage guys, what offset wheels do you recommend if doing 3.8 MT style stuff, zero or 1/2 offset?

0 offset the half looks ridiculous. Running aka city blocks and so far no terrain this thing won't fly over

Got pics? Also do you see any issues with steering with zero offset?

Sorry sold my 1/2 offsets but basically it makes it look square corner to corner. Steering is fine

Thinking of getting this truck but the body is absolutely fugly. What other bodies fit this truck?

The body will grow on you, just paint it bright and in your face and it will end up looking pretty awesome and intimidating. It also looks much better in the metal than pics

big thing looking at the body I got in is to uparmor the body around the body posts.

Will need to really strengthen that area up. Maybe on future bodies Tekno can make them thicker there.

Ya the stock body's are a joke, it is impossible to NOT mess them up.. lol. We all used drywall tape and shoe goo to fix the entire front hood area. Mine has lasted all season with this simple fix.

I'm pretty sure tekno knows it is far too thin... not sure if they will do anything about it though lol.

BTW watch the rear diff case, the bearings will become loose in the newer version case. The case doesnt break but it does stretch and it will tear up your pinion drive if you let it have too much play. I would keep a replacement case available and when it starts having too much up/down play replace it out. Save you from buying a new diff pinion gear.. or even more parts.

thanks for the info. I'll see about grabbing a spare case and I went ahead and did a few passes with drywall tape to get it beefed up. Using a used body for now so will see how it goes.

Got my EB48T all configured with electronics and the general setup changes for shocks, etc.

Just need to drop it on a setup gauge to finish it up.

My only concern is that with the viper VTX8 ESC and the Tekin truggy 2000kv motor, its VERY close to the sensor wire. Enough so that I wonder if anyone else using a similar combo (VTX8 ESC, Truggy motor) has issues with the chassis flex affecting the sensor wire?

I plan to test it initially with some 5000mah 4S packs mainly to see what kind of runtime I get, figure over 10 minutes. I do have some 7200mah 2S that I will wire in together to test as well for runtime.

Mine was so Close that I believe it shorted out the sensor wire and then end up taking out my viper I change to RX eight Gen2 still pretty close but not near as bad as the Viper. Sorry but good luck with that

thats why i run the buggy motor.

Cain 09-10-2014 08:03 AM

hmm, that is definitely food for thought. :(

Really just not enough room there and I would hate to have that happen. I have the 1900kv motor right here, maybe I'll just drop that in instead.

Darn :(
