On my ET48 I have killed shock tower every time I have broken a front a-arm in a spot that allowed the shock to be wrenched backwards when the arm broke. Judging by that hinge pin I assume you had the same issue.

Yup broken a arm. Pin and snapped the pin holder in half also ripper the screw clean out the side of the front gearbox holder. Surprisingly shock shaft still straight as an arrow
