I tried the 6x1.5s this weekend and went back to the stock 8x1.3s.

I also tried the LRC block and was not a fan on the truggy.

I'm submitting a truggy setup to Tekno in the am. Once its up on the site I'll share the link.

sounds good. looking forward to seeing what you came up with. Would this setup be for loose bumpy conditions?

I'd say mid bite, rough. It would probably be pretty good for loose conditions too.

My setup on my other vehicles is a work in progress but getting better, just wish I had more time to tune at track :cry:

For my style and feel I felt the kit setup was ok, but too soft. It was like the chassis was always rolling one way or another. I feel the key to tuning is shocks. Get a good spring / dampening package and the rest is just fine tuning.

Shock tuning package will be interesting, I am wanting similar performance I am seeing on my SCT410 with the 6 x 1.5mm setup, so will be curious how the 8 x 1.3s work if I go with that.


Who all sells the 15K and 12K diff fluids other than PT Racing from the likes of say Amain or Towerhobbies? I think Mugen for one for 15K, any others?

Looking at the following for upgrades:

- Metal Spur Gear
- TKR5433 - Tekno RC Rear Arm Mud Guards (2)

Anything else recommended?

the mud guards are a good thing to have.
i dont see a need for the metal spur. the stock plastic one is tough with proper mesh. i think 95%+ of stripped spurs come from improper mesh. ive been running rc's for 2 years now and have never stripped a plastic spur gear. metal on metal is noisy, and heavier also.

i would disassemble the diffs and install the updated shims right when you get it so that you know the diff fluid setup and for peace of mind. i also highly recommend the new tlr 8ight shock boots for all tekno vehicles. had good luck with them the last two races. very durable and the design is awesome. kept all dirt out and is much easier to change springs out vs the tekno style that is captured by the spring cup. tlr243031 and tlr243032 that will give you enough for sct410, eb, and et, and have spares leftover.

also if you havent already i recommend the delrin shock parts in the shocks too.

also replace the 10mm screw that holds the rear brace to the diff case with a 14mm.

I run metal spurs on my EB48 and SCT410 as out here you can catch pebbles etc on the track at times and I don't want to pop a spur.

Outside of that, having done 1/8 Electric back when it first started I only toasted 1 spur gear from normal usage.

Why no PT?! PT is great stuff!

Mugen is less oil for more money.

Mainly looking for what is out there and from the bigger online places like tower or amain.


or those running alternative style bodies that have a more truck look to them, any mods you had to do if anything for body mounts? thinking of a fun style body to use when fun running, keeping the racing stuff seperate.

That's my old D8T with our conversion.
If you were to run the buggy front tower and the SC body mounts, posts, and shock standoffs you could do this on the ET48 but the spring perches will hit the arms at full downtravel. You'll also lose some uptravel. With the buggy front shocks you might not have any interference at full droop (not sure, need to put it in the computer to check) but you also won't have very much droop.
You could figure something out with the stock truggy tower, but the body would sit pretty high if you don't mod it. I've heated them up and pushed big dimples in the hood and that works. Another option is to cut out clearance for the shocks and towers like how some rock crawler guys do.
If I figure something out I'll pass it on, I plan on running this body on my truggy :)

You should really try the red v-ports, I've found nothing better. (kyo version)

Been there done that, they were alright. I have the black and blue ones too. I actually preferred the blues over the reds.

Yeah I am thinking of when just fun running, having a different body on it with its monsterized tires :lol:

So if it needs to ride high, the body that is that is fine by me too. Would have to figure out something for body mounts then.


I did pickup a Tekin 2000kv Truggy motor. Assuming it all comes in I am thinking I'll give both the 1700 a try and the 2000. Maybe not the same day lol But as I want this vehicle to do some bashing duty, the Tekin may be better overall.

Am I right in what I read that you can fit a 13T pinion if you trim the center diff brace?

Never tried the blacks, I didn't like the reds as much funny enough.. maybe the rest of our setups are just different enough. The normal style pistons were OK, went through some 6x and 8x but for me and my setup these red are by far the best ones.
