The front screws on the bottom kept coming loose on both my DESC10 and Losi 8 E. So I got some 4 x 16 mm screws from AMain, part # PTK-H-2306. Needless to say it is not going to easily come loose again. The original screws are 1/2 long, and these are 5/8 inch long. They snugged up nicely.

Hey gang, I just picked up a 8ight E 3.0 and wanted to know what type or maintenance do you do and when?
I am new to RC and this ride, so any and all help is appreciated.
Edit: I race on an outdoor clay track

I finished the battery mod. I modified one of the screws into a tap with a Dremel cutting wheel. I was able to use the last four screw holes to mount it. I had to drill three holes, and used one existing hole. It is very sturdy and I am not afraid of the battery coming loose at all. I thought it would be harder, but everything went smoothly. I was able to use the existing center outboard hole. My RX8 Gen2 esc will be here this week and I should be able to finish it. I am using a T8 1900 motor and need help with the proper pinion for it. I put a 16 on it for now, but just guessing. I am using the 45 tooth steel spur gear.

I did the battery mod. after breaking a bunch of battery trays, I gave up and put it back. I put 30 grams beside the esc and push the battery forward as far as it will go. Not quite the same but close.
I just drilled and tapped a bigger hole.
