can one of you guys that has been running this buggy say what body gives a little more room underneath?
The RTR body mine came with is hitting my Lipo wires.

I sanded all the areas hitting and was able to use the stock body with the battery mod.

My shock came apart again and cost me the 1st race, bummer. Then after that I was flying. I was able to place 4th in the B main, my best ever. I was 1 lap off the leader. These cars are still very good, especially with the battery mod.

How can I protect the front tower? Has anyone made something that helps, or are there some plastic protectors out there? I hate seeing the grinding on the tower and wear on the shock hardware.

I took out one corner of the battery box( forward, right) and slid it forward. Some of the original holes lined up. I drilled the rest and bought the tap required(5-40) from Ebay. The battery tray is 3/8" from the steering post. I put the battery all the way back. It jumps very good.

Can someone tell me if the newer version 3.0 & 4.0 wing-mounts will fit the older 8ight-e 2.0 version chassis and shock mount without modification (?)

Raced my car yesterday and it was so awesome. Indoor clay track. I was one second off the bump, bummer! My car is still set up for outdoors, so I need to go over it and set up for indoor. I did break a part in the 3rd race. Nice thing about the 3.0, everyone has parts! This is easily the best r/c car I have ever owned. I am using a 206 charger and it charges at 16 amps in a few minutes. The other guys run slicks so I guess I need to get them.

I removed the fwd r/h screw and sanded that area down to fit the tray forward. I was able to line up on a few holes, and drilled/tapped the rest. I had to order the tap from eBay. I put the battery all the way back in the tray, really nice balance.

Did any of you who moved the battery tray forward try the optional front brass weight first? If so is there a benefit of the mod over the weight?

Yes, the old electric body fits perfectly, I had been running that way for two years. Loved the looks of it, Sadly there's nothing similar for the 4.0.
