I'm keeping my b4.2 till they come out with the B5m FT. By that time, I should be able to get some batteries together for it. Seems like a good time to get some saddle packs.

Anyone know if saddle packs can be put in line to work in the 4.2?

Also, just a general question about racing (just starting to get some track time so I can start). How many batteries do y'all go with? I know during practice, a pack can last me about 30-45 minutes. Is it safe to use that battery for more than 1 heat (5-7 minute heat), or do you change the battery between heats?

New orion 2s full stick pack. Don't know weather to return the new battery and get saddles or square for he new B5. Or just run the b4.2

Man I bought 2 .1 buggys about a year ago, and upgraded 1 2 the full .2 and the other to just alum steering and big bore shocks, but the rest is still .1 , and I have not broken a thing since I had it, and this was my first buggy, so gettin the hang of it took some banging around, and only to find it is unbreakable lol

2 batteries is more than enough. You can use that battery for more than 1 heat, but I prefer a fully charged pack.

Thanks guys. A local guy did them. He does most of the locals paint at our track.

I'm going to stick with mine for a bit and wait for the bugs to get worked out... I'm not looking forward to selling all the stuff that I do have for my 4.2's..

Looks like they took some ideas from Team Durango.

Has there been details of the design released yet?

Hideeho
No, none at all. There isn't a thread for the b5 or b5m on rctech.

New to 2wd buggy racing in general. I have raced T4's for years but that class is dead so I have opted to pick up a B4.2 kit. What specific upgrades have you all found to be beneficial for running mod class outdoors on a small/medium track? I have seen a lot of talk about the Avid items. Just looking for a good idea as to what I should plan to pick up in addition to the kit.

Thanks in advance.

To be honest the kit is great, and all i did was put rpm ball ends. But the fastest guy in my area put on lundsford turnbuckles with rpm ball ends, a heavy duty slipper and MIP C-CVD's. A lot of people like the avid esc tray and motor centering kit.

After running mine for about 18 months, below is what I have kept on the car as far as hop-ups:

JConcepts Ball Cups (JCI2181) - was using RPM, but I like the JConcepts version because they have the holes in the top

RPM Mini Front Bumper (RPM80232)

Avid 12mm Machined 2+2 Piston (4) (2x1.5mm/2x1.1mm) (AVD1031-1.5-1.1-F)

Associated 12mm Front Shock Spring (Green/3.15lbs)

Associated 12mm Rear Shock Spring (Green/2.00lbs)

Avid 2.5x6x3mm Associated/TLR Differential Thrust Bearing (Ceramic) (AVDF2.5-6M/C)

Avid RC Associated Motor Centering Kit (AVD1025)

Associated Molded Gear Cover (ASC7460)

There is a little write up on the first page of NeoBuggy.net about both cars. Got some up close pics too. It looks like a composite type modular chassis like the ones used on the SC10 4x4. I can see all sorts of aluminum chassis being made soon. Same shocks, VTS slipper. New front and rear hubs though.

Still doesn't have my interest in stepping up. But it does look nice.

Saddle packs in line will work in the B4.2 no problems. You will need a short jumper wire between the two packs but saddles end-end are the same dimension as a full size stick pack.
