I have the avid slipper on my b4 .how often do you guys change the slipper pads? Been using them almost a year now. I think they still look good and are working.

Motor Plates
 

Hey guys, quick question. For whatever reason, I seem to be bending motor plates. I mean, I know why, but I don't ever recall bending the thinner plate on the old B4. I guess this thicker, milled out plate is a different temper.

Anyway, have any of you guys found any of the other brand plates more resistant to this? Got a big race coming in a week so I need to get something on order.

I've never seen a bent plate. You running all the screws with blue lock tight? 550 motor lol? The Jconcepts plates seems tougher to me and also light weight, try that one!

Well, they bend from not landing correctly from jumps. Yea, I do that. :blush:

Also, the only way to tell it's bent is that you'll start to notice the gear cover not fitting very well at the top. At first, I thought it was the cover. I replaced the cover, same thing. I removed the plate and could see some slight creasing through the anodization. Putting it on a flat surface verifies it.

You would be better off just selling your B4.1 and waiting to get the B5 with the money you will have to spend. I heard they are like $200 from Tower Hobbies.

Hey guys! I was reading the Charlie Perez setup hints for B4 on petitrc.com. He talks about #1, #2, and #3 shock pistons. Is he meaning 1 hole, 2 hole, and 3 hole pistons? I wasn't sure what he meant by #1, #2, and #3 on the pistons.

These were the names of the pistons used on the 10mm (small bore) shocks used on the B4/B4.1. #1 had the biggest holes and #3 had the smallest holes.

They are *roughly* equivalent to the 1.7, 1.6 and 1.5 2 hole pistons that come with the 12mm shocks.

these milled motor plates bend all the time from hard landings. quite a few guys at my track run the rtr steel plate in blue or black. they are heavier and beefer than the aluminum ones. cheaper too.i liked it because it adds a little weight in the back.

Yeah that's true, I went back to the stock one!! The 2 blue ones I have are bent haha and the black milled one is still good tho
