anyway, have you guys ever seen anyone literally drive the wheels off the car? We have a local that it pretty quick. Not sponsored but fast. He drives a b4 and watching him drive it would make no one want to buy the b4. I personally would never buy one of his used cars. He has broken chassis, countless ball studs, A hubs (plastic), rear arms and shock shafts. He can literally land on all four wheels and snap a shock shaft. When you watch him drive its like watching a guy steel a car and run from the police. He it the text book drive it like you stole it driver and sadly the b4 cant hold up to how hard he runs that thing. But then I see maifield drive here locally and he goes fast with out even looking like it. Much smoother and effortless.

I busted a solder tab on my 10.5 and need to switch to a rarely used 17.5 while I wait for the fix.
I had been running the 10.5 with the stock spur and a 24 pinion. How should I gear the 17.5? Thanks! |
not idea what motor but I will throw out 34-35/69

So a question I have for a while. If you can make the same (or nearly so) gear ration with say a 81t spur and a 78t spur or even smaller/larger. Why go one way over another? If the FDR is the same does it matter if you run a larger pinion and spur or a smaller pinion and spur? |
It's a Team Powers 17.5 and a Tekin RS Gen2
Only other spur I have for it is an 84. Can I get by with that and some timing so it isn't dog slow? My track is fairly small. |
84.... It will be pretty slow. with that big of a spur, you wont get a very big pinion in maybe a 24-25. I would just a $3 spur, lol.

Yea I was going to say 33/72 based on RC gearhead suggestions.

Oh I hate that. I do the same at my LHS. I go in to buy some tires and come out with $100 of goodies. My wife hates me every time.
