Question about the big Bore shocks. Are the caps aluminum or plastic?

kjohnsiii 07-14-2013 08:51 AM

The caps are aluminum.

Some tips on how to get more rear traction please.

What tires are you running? I just tried PL Tazers in super soft for the first time yesterday and really liked the results. When you ask around the track you will here AKA Impacts in soft but I just had no traction with them. Maybe sauce would help but the SS Tazers really hooked up. Just wish I could keep the mistakes down. And if I could get a marshal that didn't aim me into a pipe that'd be great.

I think I read that the exotek hub can be brought down to the c-hub height using a short ball stud.. Does somebody know which ball stud to use?

Loose and slippery condition, the rest is perfect!

Make a setup change. You ask a question, but provide no information. We can't help without knowing what setup you run, and which tires work.

Reduce front droop a titch, decrease anti-squat a tad, decrease rear toe a skosh (careful with that one, you can quickly lose rear traction other places), decrease caster.

anyone that tried these (o) x-rings?
They are mend for the SC10 4x4 but amain says these fit the B4.1 too?
Since the B4.1 uses the same O-rings as the B4.2 I assume these fit the B4.2 too?

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ock-Seal-Set-8

Would these be smoother? I though xrings were better than orings?
and maybe they seal better too? since the x rings make twice as much contact?

bambambennett 07-14-2013 12:48 PM

I think the SC10 4x4 shock shafts are bigger. However, I could be wrong. I hated mine and try not to remember it.LOL!

Yeah, the SC10 4x4 uses a bigger oring. Don't always believe what amain states for fitment.

D.Martijn 07-14-2013 12:55 PM

Damn, I think the xrings might offer a better seal?

Wildcat1971 07-14-2013 01:03 PM

Really? I always have issues with my Associated shocks leaking oil.

Not sure on exact weight, but I believe this is the order for lightest.

Avid
VTS
Orignal B4.1

I know the avid is lightest.
