short answer ... YES :nod::ha:

Someone should just PM/email Mike R of exotek. I'm sure if the demand was there, he would make an ultra-thick, finned and milled motor plate. :D

For those having rear shock rubbing issues, you might look into a set of these http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Guards-Black-4 it says they fit Durango Big Bores, which are the same size as AE shafts, only difference may be the height of the cup.

Hello, I'm new here & say "Hi" to you all....
I just p/u a b4.2 roller & wondering is any parts like arms, shock towers are interchangeable to b4.1?

The thicker you make the plate, the less the top shaft is exposed, which might affect slipper installation. No idea how much room there actually is, just something to think about.

Everything is technically interchangeable, and there's only a few individual pieces that have been updated. If you're talking a b4.2 factory team (and not the RTR), and a b4.1 factory team the only difference is the big bores, aluminum steering, and the slightly clearanced (for the shocks) shock tower. Other than that, they're identical.

He could then make a topshaft that's a little longer to compensate. :D

the short answer is kinda. The arms are the same, but the towers are different. That being said, AE it not making the old style towers anymore and they are doing a rolling update on them. The old tower will fit, but might require some spacing and dremeling for the big bore shock clearance.

Team associated solid black motor plate = 20.75 grams
Team associated blue milled out factory team motor plate = 15.88 grams
Lunar Rc team associated DOUBLE MILLED factory team motor plate 14.67 grams

I have been running the lunar Rc plate for 3 months with no issues ... solid product.

Shock o rings

I read the previous shock discussions and my question is, did anyone else notice the cap black o ring kinda fit loose? The rebuild kit had 8 of the same size black o rings that fit the ride height adj. and cap. I rebuild both my sets of 12mm on my b4.2 and sc10. The caps leak a little after one race day, answers?
Thanks and God Bless

Jsaves

MAke sure your using the correct O ring.
Sounds like you are using the larger o ring used for the threaded shock collar's.

Jsaves 07-16-2013 05:26 PM

I looked them over real good, but the 8 o rings look the same size. Look at the photo off of Stormers site of the rebuild kit. I do not know what to say?
Thanks

For the idler gear did any of you guys put grease or diff lube?? Someone at my LHS asked me if I put any on it and I told them I just followed the book. Was I supposed to put some?? My car was screaming the other day and a couple of well known guys told me that the idler gear was the culprit but when I opened up the transmission it looked fine?? Thanks!!!!!:tire:
