Where are you placing the pack in the tray? To me it looks like the battery needs to be about 40mm back from the front of the tray to keep the CG of the battery in the same spot as a full size pack.

NVM, I found a picture you posted of your layout.

A Shorty plus 40 grams of ballast in rear battery tray .....;)
also
7 grams in each rear corner & a team ballast in front of transmission...

Car feels better, has better balance in the air & landings ,a bit more off power steer then a full size 25C ...

Using a 7.5 Reedy

Oke, thanks everyone for your opinion.
I think I'll buy the monos
My local track is outdoors and dusty so no black dirt or any of that. And also they are pretty cheap at my LHS so thats great too :D

I like the dish on the AE and JC Mono wheel. It keeps them from getting scratched. My 22 wheels always get scratched and look like crap.

+1 more for Avid wheels, easy to keep clean, fit great, the fronts fit the JC front axles perfectly.

dont forget to upgrade the ball cups. the stock brakes too easy.
put a 2mm spacer on the rear lower shock bolt so the link wont rub the shock. (we discussed a few pages back)
and clean with alcohol the diff rings, balls and out drive. they come pretty dirty.

Thanks for the tips - I actually ordered RPM rod ends with the kit so I'm good there, will make sure to clean the diff parts well. The kit should be here tomorrow night so I am hoping to start building over the weekend. After having so many trucks I am really looking forward to the buggy. Hope it builds as well as my T4.1 did - that was perhaps the easiest build I ever had.

Will post a image of my ride later tonight ..:tire:

Been running the shorty with a very thin pad on the front of the tray .
Remember , also using a 40 gr ballast in rear of tray .

For full size pack's been using the same pad on the front, no 40 gr ballast ..

ChrisAttebery 07-17-2013 04:39 PM

I found a picture you posted a couple months back. With 40g in the rear of the tray you are basically at the same weight as the WolfPack (~240g). I might try that out too. I have some full sized packs but they are 300g 65c 5600s. I think that's too much, especially for 17.5NR.

Geo,
Are you running an aditional 40g to the factory team ballast weight thAt is under the tower?

5 Attachment(s)
Chris

Was going to post a current image anyway ..:D

Had a few refinements to show everyone ...

#1 Flipped all the wiring to the ESC upside down so the wires could flow into the middle of the rear tower .

Allows the wires to be short as possible and they hug the transmission for better handling & lower CG.

Also moved the battery leads under the shelf ...

#2

just installed my graphite pieces from Vision-Racing

Take a look at their new steering rack ...

Includes machined bushing's for the perfect fit & no slop .
Also there are two additional stud locations for fine tuning ...

Ryan

Yes , use 40 gr in the rear tray when using the shorty ...

balance in the air , landings & traction performance is awesome this way ...

Pretty sick, I want to pick up the esc shelf and do that.

shocks are loaded with

3x1.4 piston

Front 35w & ae white spring
Rear 32.5w & ae white spring

Is it difficult to re-wire the LRP Flow?

I have some black wire I would love to put on...

WC, are you using A hubs or C hubs/shaved brace?

Is that the flat 3x1.4??? Or the tapered??

The car looks good, I've had mine like that for a bit. I'm very impressed with the different feel of the car!

Yes, the flow is very easy to Re-wire! The solder tabs are open ended unlike previous models. Very easy to work with to get it how you want
