Wasnt the D3 banned by ROAR? I would go with either the LRP X20 or Reedy Mach 2, I asked before I perchased a motor, and they were by far the favorites. I ordered the LRP Flow Compeetition ESC and X20 17.5t Combo, just waiting for them to get here.

Is this the correct part#YOKBM-206, I just finished building my b4.2 and about to start the t4.2 and was looking to use these instead of the rpm ball cups, I like the fact u dont have to take the ball cup off for setup changes and they look alot better than the rpm cups.

Is a Xerun 60A SD v2.1 enough for a 7.5T motor like the Reedy Sonic? Someone at our track said it's not, but i just can not imagine a 60A ESC to burn in a 1.5kg Buggy. My SC weighs more than 3.2kg, with 1400W motor and the 120A ESC doesn't even get hot!

Probably would be fine, but when you can get a 120 AMP esc for $55 from Brushless Hobbies ($67 with PC link) or a $35 from hobbyking.com (Hobbywing 120amp rebadge) why wouldn't you? I have been running 3 Brushless Hobbies 120 amps for over six months with zero issues ... no affiliation or sponsorship.

That being said the Schurr Speed is very smooth, light, cool and fast -- as good as any ROAR approved motor out there IMO. Perfect for light 2wd buggies.

+1 on the Schurr Speed. The D3.5 was removed from the list and for good reason -- it's clearly out of spec -- our track does not require ROAR approval and it's clear who has that motor (or some other outlaw motor/modification) in 17.5. It was night and day when I put one on my short bus ...

Did you even follow the investigation?

My two sons use the Hobbywing Ezrun 80WP (80a) with the Trackstar 7.5 in the DEX410, a buggy known for being hard to esc`s and motors, and they are doing fine.

for a 7.5 in the b4, I would tun at least the 90 amp HW esc.

Hey guys I'm running a 9.5 3.0 Speedpassion motor geared 81/23 (IIRC) with an LRP spin esc (not the pro). My esc was shutting down after 6 minutes of the 10 minute main due to heat. Is my gearing off? Its a medium sized clay outdoor track. The motor was just barely warm.
BTW I upgraded to the AVID clutch. Huge improvement.
