totally disagree with your statement ..

My track sells Max Amps batterys & the customers all say they perform great ...

its a novak gbt2 lp esc with 8.5 trun motor and its a losi 22 sc truck

Wildcat1971 01-14-2013 11:12 AM

lol, you name a battery and I can find 10 people that say it is great and 10 people that say it sucks. But like Ian said, I would never spend that for a pack. For me, the promatch are fine. They released an 80c shorty pack from IP. I am sure it will suit my needs when i upgrade. I just looked at my lap times from last weekend and i have a lot more to worry about than C rating, lol. I love the "feel" of the BB shocks, but I am inconsistent as hell these days. For months my top5 and top 10 were withing a second of my best lap. Now I have a 4-5 second variance.

I checked the specs on the Novak website and it will be fine. Check the temps on it, use the correct gearing. In a SC you may consider running the fan if it came with one.

it came with out a fan

it should still be fine without a fan. Temp it to make sure after you run it, but I don't see it getting too hot as long its geared right.

That has nothing to do with what they state or don't state their rating system is. As an example, if I told you that the lipos I just sold you were 1000C but I know they are really 500C (or, I don't make it clear that my C rating is burst, not really continuous), you only use them in a 2wd buggy, stock racing and they outperform the competition, am I still lying to you even though you say they perform great? ;)

And no, I don't personally believe they are lying about the ratings and I have owned a couple of maxamps packs which I liked. Heck, even got along great with Jason from Maxamps when we attended some of the same races, very helpful guy. But, I do believe its not in their or the consumers best interest to not up front state what TrueC means, since in essence, its just a burst rating.
