For you guys that have gone from a SCTE 1.0 to this truck. What are some characteristics that will feel differently driving wise between the two?

WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY more steering! The larger shocks really help with landing jump and soaking up any beat up tracks. For me it has some of the same characteristics as the losi but does it better. This truck is what I hoped my losi scte 2.0 would be. I WAS WRONG!

i tried out my truck today after drilling out the shock pistons to 1.3 and found it quite enjoyable. nose diving is gone and the truck lands much nicer. also the smc battery is great, no puffing, wasn't even hot....happy,happy,happy.....:D:D:D

The difference to me was night and day. Way more steering than the scte stays grounded better and flies better. The tune ability is amazing. When you make changes it really affects the way it runs, you can really feel the differences. But mainly to me it feels like a one solid piece of machinery and not a bunch of parts all thrown together working off of eachother. It's as solid as can be.

I would say they are not a MUST, they are useful but it's not catastrophic if you don't have them. I like them, some of my buddies think they are worthless. Luckily they are pretty inexpensive so if you don't like them it's not a huge loss. Great place for stickers too

Yeah, I've never driven the 2.0. I had 1.0 with a Bump chassis.

First off, Id like to say, I'm impressed to see so many true reviews. If the same question was asked on other threads there would be pages of thrashing.
There is no denying the Losi is a great running truck but has several down falls. I've owned/tested almost every 4x4 SCT on the market: - DESC410r V1, V2, and highly modified with custom shocks and such - Losi SCTE 1.0, 2.0, MIP, and hightly modified of each variations and several aftermarket chassis - Slash (several lcg setups) - RC8.2 conversion - Jammin SRT10 stock and highly custom with CF chassis and big bore shocks So far my best description of the SCT410 is that it shows most of the best characteristics of all of the trucks on the market. I spent a ton of money to get the others to be as good of a package as the SCT410 in stock form. The DESC410r is the most nimble of the class, but the sct410 can turn under most. The Losi is great outdoors and handles rough tracks great, but it fails to match the sct410's shocks and stability. The biggest plus is the quality of the product. I have a first run truck and just replaced the drive line pins last weekend. Everything else is fantastic. |

My thoughts exactly on the Tekno forums, not only are the cars better, so are the people everyone is helpful and there's no childish 40 yo men bickering , if he asked that same question in any big brand thread they'd all be like "omg another what's the best question" "go read about it before u ask questions" etc etc. I'm still upset I had to buy a Losi for 1/10 buggy, still in the box Cus thinking about exchanging for Schumacher Cus the losi thread isn't nearly as cool as the sct410/eb48 ones, looks like schuie has the more down to earth small co vibe too
The other brands' boards are so busy discussing the latest hack they go one for thousands of pages making a simple "i'm new what should I upgrade" difficult, and the answer changes every 10 pages are so. |
The best thing is the owner of tekno's not some corporate but an average joe racer like us, who listens to the end customers. Nothing beats that!
