Yep, the Jconcepts foams in mine lasted for a few weeks also ,while the AKA were good enough to use in a second set of tires if need be. Weird.

Hey guys, meant to post about this a while ago but on eBay there is a seller by the name mikeys-rc-shop who auctions off SCT410 parts but does it from kits so instead of having to buy all pieces separately at 10X the price, you can get awesome deals, for example I got the entire stearing bell crank section for $2.26 and got front cvds and a full set of camber links for $1.29 and the full front bumper, arms, diff case and braces for $12... I could go on and on... oh and an entire front diff for $32. And he always has the auctions running so if you dont get a good price the first time you can try again. I have bought like 80% of the parts for a second kit for like $170. Anyway, im talking to him about giving me a code for you guys in rctech to get free/discounted shipping or some other deal.

Just a neighborly heads up(just dont drive the bids up on me haha)... I asked him to start doing for EB48 too!

I used the JC Profiled foam in mine, theyre ok. I will never use proline foam agian tho, I have 2 sets that both have flat spots even tho I never store them on the truck or standing up.

My RX8 was fine, the XP DS1015 servo was about 2" too short.

Default Straight Cut Gears

Finished a .2 build yesterday and ran it down the street a little. If this is any indication, I can't wait to try the new gears and rear housing in the SCT. It just seems quieter.

Anybody made the change yet?

the SCT410 has the new internal gears stock already but not the new straight cut spur and pinion gears and the new angled rear housing.

I drove my truck yesterday. Everything was good until it landed off a jump on the front right tire and broke the 17mm PLASTIC adapter. These things are not that strong. I will probably switch back over to 12mm.

Haven't driven mine yet with the 17mm hex but I may grab another pack and send one to a machinist buddy and have him make a few. Those are regular offset right? Not +1mm? I may have him add a little to them to get it out to max width if they are +0.
I really don't want to go back to 12mm hex, feel like I'm taking a step backwards on the evolution chart and hunching over a bit

That's what I was referring to. I got the straight cut gears in earlier this week but decided to wait for the new rear diff case to show up today before I tore it apart.

I could only fit one shim in the new diff case by the way. It really felt super smooth in the EB.

So you would recommend the new straight cut spur and pinion I guess? Been trying to decide if I should buy now or wait til my current originals wear out. Same with my eb48, do I upgrade all parts to .2 now or just wait til they wear because none of them are going to make a drastic performance difference.

Straight cuts gears will free up the drivetrain a bit, mostly off power. Also makes gear lash adjustment more critical.

1 shim here as well, on the gear side. Whole lot better gear mesh than the front with two shims on the gear side. Only complaint I have with build so far is no axle bearing crush sleeves. Wheel is being tightened up and loading cross pin in axle instead of loading axle through outer bearing inner race and crush sleeve.

Since there is a small amount of play in the axle I dont see how a crush sleeve would do anything, only 1 bearing is getting loaded at a time anyways depending on what direction you are turning.

I had three that were ok, one was really tight. The collars are made from plastic, so its very east to cross thread them. Get the alum ones. I found a set from my old AE RC8 that worked just fine.

Hopefully I can get some footage this sunday to compare a before and after. I have video that you can clearly here it as it is now.
