@Bernard What's up man when you get up here this saturday I'll hook up with you.. My temps are around the 150's, I clear the double with ease.. I just figured after watching the buggies run clearing that triple can knock down some serious lap times.. I have a 17T pinion also but I think it's the wrong type because it doesn't mesh up like my 15T but either way, I can show you better than I can tell you this weekend lol! And on the plus side you can show me how to set my throttle curve on my TS401

So if you have a 4700kv motor rated for 2 cells would it be possible to run 3 or 4?

Looking for longer run times. Seems like you would be able set the EPA to 50% to help not burn up the motor. Correct?

When did that happen? I thought it was the other way around that it had to be manufactured as a 1/10 SCT which is why you can't run the SC8?

I wouldnt... Either stick with 2s or buy a lower KV motor to go with it.

That seems like a good strategy. Start low then gear up until you stop spinning the wheels in the area you need the most acceleration, then set the limiter to control temps. Kind of like setting the slipper in 2wd

what is your full setup? (ESC, Motor, Battery). If you are trying to get more runtime with the motor and ESC being the same, you will want more capacity from the batteries. If bashing, you could always run 2 2S packs in parallel.

Racing, you will want to buy the highest mah packs in 2S configuration that are legal for your track. high mah packs like this can range from 7200mah to over 8000mah that I have seen, though not all hardcased.

You are wanting to increase capacity, and this can be done by wiring your packs up in parallel using a connector similar to this:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXNKY8&P=7

So you can potentially double your run time by hooking up 2 identical packs in parallel.

most LiPo's are already 2S2P packs which technically have 4 internal cells even though they are sold as "2S" packs because the voltage is represented as a virtual 2S pack.

If you used the connector I linked above then your system would be 2S4P where increasing the number of P's will increae runtime, If you increase the number of S's, then you would be increasing voltage/punch/power/speed.

Roar has always had (and still does) a stipulation that vehicles in stock or spec classes must be available as kits. I'm not sure if it's a recent change, but mod classes are under no such restrictions as long as the vehicle meets all dimensions and general rules for the class. The RC8 is too wide and too long to meet the ROAR dimensions for 4wd sct.

I'm coming up after work tomorrow. So I'll be there between 7 & 8. I'll be setting up right next to Ernest's trailer.

Sounds like you have too much low end and it's making it harder to drive. We can look at your radio setting but I don't like the feel of a non-linear throttle curve. I'd run at least a 16 (and would really suggest getting a 17 to try) and leave the current at 35. You need to minimize the tire spin and add some top end. The only radio adjustments I make are with the throttle and brake EPA's.

It may not sound right but slowing down can result in faster lap times and consistency.

They look kind of low, I wonder if they have the same height as the stock for under the horn link mount

[QUOTE=Shawn_S;12424928]What's point worrying about being 'ROAR legal' running a 2 2s setup, if 75% of the people are running Pro4HD's in the first place? Good point.

Default tires

I live in Florida and we drive on loose sand. What kind of tires are good for sand. We just race on a lot we cleared.
