This motor is buttery smooth with plenty of rip. I really like it. I came from a hobbywing 4700 and it was a huge difference in smoothness. I'm using an rx8 with current limiter cranked way up and the 4700 HW was just way to powerful down low. The powerband of the Schur Speed is much more refined and made the car easy to drive. I'm very happy that I went from the hobbywing 4700 to the Schur speed 4800.

Oops.....I'm an Apple guy myself but never thought of that

All videos of her driving the SCT410 or Xray XB4 can be found by just searching "Malin Karlsen" on YouTube.
There will also be videos of her running her new Yokomo B-Max2's (when I get them finished) and Tekno EB48 (in a months time when the snow melts).
She went on to win all her qualifiers and posted the fastest qualifying times in all heats except for 1 where she lost out with 1.5 seconds to TQ after being on her lid twice. She also set fastest lap time of the day.
Here are videos AND links to the qualifiers:

A quick note about the video embeds that have been happening.
You don't need to post a link to it, even if somebody doesn't have Flash installed they can still click on the "YouTube Video" text at the top of the video embed as it is a direct link to that video.

Just a thought,I switched from a Pro-4 4600 to a HW 4000kv and the difference is this. With the Tekin 4600 I would drop my EPA down to 132 from 140 to start the day and end up by the main back @140%.With the HW (both with a 14 tooth pinion)I started at 140 and kept dropping it to get the power down proper and get the truck to settle a bit, ended up at 125% and left it there. One very fast motor and stays at 125-130 deg. pack after pack. This is not in a Tekno (yet) ..LOL.. Have not seen the results from JBRL but rumor is that 14 yr old Rudy Rico landed his Tekno truck in the A main and finished 6th??.Cheers!!

That is a Bengal, we sell them. www.rumblepaws.com
We had 2 Ocicats, they got old and passed last year, wife and I been looking at Bengals. How do they travel? I know it seemed as though the Ocicats didn't care for the flight from Toronto to here.
Now THAT, is a proper thread derail. BAM!

also, one of the best avatars ever. Hotrod Herman for the win!

thanks for the info on the rear hinge pin location.
I changed it up last night for our tighter technical layout on hard packed dirt and the truck did NOT like that single change. Granted I could mess with setup to make it decent but since it was so far off the current setup, wasn't worth my time at the moment on a race day.
I did make my rear camber link longer from the Barry Baker setup and it was a great change for my setup/track. It had so much turn in and the rear was loose on our surface so i moved it out and it was a really nice change.
Downside, i overnighted a set of axles just so I could race it last night. Ended up breaking another rear axle. Always at the same point, right at the bottom of the threaded area before it expands. This time it wasn't a lawn dart scenario. Still the DE Borrego wheels and stock hexes. This time just during racing action. Luckily it was post "Main" just running a couple of laps since we were the last main of the night.
I race every Tuesday/Friday nights for the local club nights and a saturday or two a month, and then there is my normal practice nights during the week. My office is 5 min from track and house is 5 min the other way, haha. And I love my single life, hahah. So I'm hoping things can get figured out to keep this from happening
Like I said before, I think the big issue is the protruding axle shaft. We were having some close racing and got the wheels tangled I bet. It'll be the first thing to catch a pipe, wall, competitors wheel, etc...
I did round out the inside of one of those plastic hexes. Looks as if the pin spun freely and shaved the plastic down. Found a set of tekno aluminum hexes from an online shop and ordered up.
Truck is still a blast to drive even with these little "issues".
PS - as for tekno customer service - I called on Monday at around 4:30cst time and left a voicemail stating I wanted to order the axles I saw online "in stock" and wanted to overnight them but didn't see that shipping option specifically laid out and just wanted to see if it was an option or if I missed it in the list.
I also sent an email stating that exact same thing. I wasn't expecting replacements or angry at the situation, I just wanted to order the parts. I haven't received a call back or voicemail or email.
I was taken care of by a different vendor so I do not need anything at this point, more of a "so you know" to help better customer service. I know how it goes and sometimes things get missed.

I was up until the wee hours of the morning reading everything I could find on shocks and shock setup for off-road cars. The first thing I learned was that most of what I thought I knew was wrong.
Most importanly the difference between an indoor high traction smooth clay track and an outdoor rough dusty low traction track may seem huge, but for a well set up truck the changes you make to set-up are not very large. I studied all the set up sheets I could find for the 410 and the eb48 and most were pretty close to the box stock set-up.The differences are much more suttle than I thought. I've been making pretty big changes and too many of them. Basically I've been trying to drive a carpet tack with a sledge hammer and wondering why I keep smashing my fingers.
Today I'm going to clean up the truck and set up it up to box stock with one exception. I'm going to replace the front springs with the soft/soft Xray progressive springs. They're close to the same length and the initial spring rate seems very close to the stock front spring. My goal is to improve the nose down attitude over the jumps without making the suspension overly stiff.
The piston changes I had planned to make are now on the back burner. None of the Team drivers have changed pistons as far as I can tell so I shouldn't need to either.
If the weather holds I'll test out this change on the weekend and go from there.
