Tekno SCT410 Thread

I think it's not a particular combo causing it but yet a bad batch of axles. We have everyone from newbies to pros breaking axles and I'm sure all of them weren't using the same combos. I guess until mine breaks I won't worry about it but I will have to order a set to have for a spare in case it does happen. Maybe a bad batch got through QC overseas. The hardening could be off just enough to make them brittle who knows.
Either way to anyone contemplating buying one of these don't let this isolated issue stop you. This truck is simply the best sct out there IMO. Tekno hit a homerun for sure.

BTW, I highly recommend an external Castle BEC in all 4wd SC and 1/8th scale. Solves so many issues.

I'm almost done with my build, just need to set the speed control to the radio, put the servo horn on & align the height, mount some tires, & get my body back from Thunder Designs. I'm going to run the Toyota flotek proline body & I bought the air control dams, I guess I don't need to vent the body anymore or should I still open up the vents? Please let me know if you have any experiences with these dams, thanks!

Turnbuckles are truly 4mm for the adjustment area correct? I have a 4mm wrench and it is a bit larger and seems to start stripping the turnbuckles.
Build went together well. A couple of little hiccups in the directions (rear brace shows going into the right side rear hole, but the left side lower hole is the only one that would fit based on distance and it can't cross over the driveshaft obviously)
Can't wait to get it out tomorrow for testing

We're looking into the stub axles and we have a couple questions for anyone that has broken one:
Are you running aluminum hexes?
What brand of wheel are you running?
We're thinking there is a combination of things that are causing breakages. Almost all of the breaks we've seen have a few things in common: Aluminum hexes, DE wheels, and possibly loose wheel nuts (or wheel nuts that aren't tight enough).
We're not saying anyone or anything is at fault, we're just trying to collect data so we can determine what action to take, if any. We had one team member break a couple, then we tightened the wheel nuts and there hasn't been an issue since. The wheel nuts have to be VERY tight.

Despite this issue, I would definitely buy this truck again. It's really awesome minus the stub axles lol. That's definitely a problem and the fact that I broke 3 within 4 battery packs is really frustrating. Now I'm driving the truck worrying that the axles will break again. Tekno, I'm hoping you guys can find a solution to this problem ASAP. Aside from that, thanks for making an awesome truck. I will soon be buying the eb48 as well!

Here's a video from the 4th and final qualifier.
She won this one as well, setting the fastest lap of the day and qualifying in 2nd position for the finals
Not bad for a girl who started running r/c cars 4 months ago

She's really come a long way in just 4 months

She also races 4WD Mod. buggy with her XB4 and she will soon start racing 2WD Mod. with her Yokomo's as well

I'll post the videos from the finals soon.
