Coming from a SCTE/MIP...I have always owned Tekins ...RX8/4600.
New truck and going with a new power system. What motors are you guys running with the Viper VTX8? Tracks will be from mid to large outdoors with med/high bite. I just don't want to get killed in the slower parts of the tracks, but be able to move out when needed! |
Hexes?
I thought I saw it in here but I can't find it now, can somebody tell me what 12mm metal hexes work on the SCT 410? Part #s too please.

Generally speaking, if you are running on a smooth, high bite track with minimal bumps, you will want less droop, and the opposite for low bite bumpy tracks. Droop is a huge adjustment that can have a major effect on how the car works. It doesn't take much adjustment of the droop screws to feel a difference. One last thing, when adjusting droop, be sure to reset your ride height. |

Good day guys, just some information to share with you, be very careful when choosing the correct 12mm metal wheels adapter! I am browsing through some Chinese forum and came across a really bizzard case, when one of the SCT-410 owner broke a rear CVD axle right where the screws start. Upon detail inspection on his post, I believe it's a too wide adapter, combine with a wrong off-set wheels (Slash?) and a super strong tighten hand that cause that.
I have been running the EB-48 right from the beginning and I am confidence Tekno's product will not fail in this manners, and I sure do hope some of those guys admit there are some wrong doing on their own behalf, rather then blaming Tekno! But Daniel, it may be a good idea to mention what (off-set)rims are suppose to use for the SCT-410, cause I am not sure you have mention this on the manual? Attachment 1031658 Attachment 1031659 Attachment 1031660 Besides, I have put up a detail write up on the building of the SCT-410, just like what I did for the EB-48. Although the language may be alien, but I hope you guys do enjoy reading/looking at the pictures! http://www.rcfans.com/forum.php?mod=...extra=page%3D4 Also attach my finished SCT-410, now just waiting for its maiden run! Indoor Clay Race

I took the truck to a medium sized high bite track last night for a race 1 qual/main. I got 3 practice runs in.
Practice 1: Huge difference in the steering response from my local medium bite outdoor track. Rear slide out in turns too much causing over-steer. Started with Blue JC 3d's and switched to Gold JC Bar Codes half way through. Wanted to traction roll a couple times. Still had way too much front traction. Stock setup minus center/rear braces, and hubs all the way back. Revtech 4800kv 4-pole, 15/44, 65 current limit, came off at 196° after 6 minutes. Practice 2: Reduced front droop from 103mm to 100mm and rear droop from 123mm to 120mm, moved the hubs forward 2mm (thick spacer). Turned throttle EPA from a 100 down to 85. Used a little more throttle through the turns. Drove way better, dropped about a second+ a lap. Came off the track at 209° Practice 3: Went back to 100 EPA and a 14t pinion. Only had a had time to try the truck for a few laps. Actually felt faster (low-end and top-end). Turned the EPA down to 95. TQ'd the 6 minute qualifier came off at 156°. Won the 7 minute main by 10 seconds and came off at 166°. Everyone seemed very impressed with how it looked on the track and were convinced I must of done more to get it to handle like that. I would would like to try maybe 7k or 10k in the center diff next time. My front tires were pretty much toast at the end of the night. I haven't been doing this forever but would still suggest everyone at least try the box setup before you go changing everything when you build this truck. |
Is anyone running the RX and esc up front? Is there really any advantage t using the RX box? My servo leads not near long enough and i can fit my sct-pro and futaba RX up front.

for you guys looking for 17mm wheels in bulk (general prices look good too for pairs), I noticed this:
http://kriostasis.com/store/index.ph...ha_filter_id=0 $25.99 for 4 pairs sounds pretty good to me at least? |

was thinking about it myself in a way as the GT2.0 Pro is tiny, could then see about running the transponder up front somehow. |

it doesn't come with the lightened outdrives, but what it does come with that the truck doesn't:
-machined towers -aluminum shock caps -aluminum shock cartridge bottoms -aluminum hinge pin holders that's what i can think of off the top. |

I run the Viper XL 4.5 550 can with my VTX8 in my sct410, for medium to large tracks start with a 14t pinion and check temps.
