I've ran 17mm buggy wheels with no issues

Can anyone tell me what Pro-Line Bead-Loc wheels work on this truck?

Associated stock SC8 wheels fit the 17mm as well.

Bead lock rims will add a ton of unsprung weight.

If you want to reuse wheels just boil (simmer actually) for about 10 to 15 minutes and the tires peel right off. If you use aka inserts, cut tires on one side, remove insert and simmer.

They will come out nearly perfect and whatever glue is left (very minimal) can be removed with a fiber wheel chucked into a drill.

On a side note, to reuse the tires you can remove the 99% of the glue that sticks on the tire not the rim by soaking the bead in Satellite City's super solvent (CA debonder) and the glue balls up and leaves you with a perfectly clean bead to glue onto your next wheel that doesn't have a stripped hex.
Flip the tire inside out so you can sit the bead in a shallow dish. That way you use the last solvent possible.

Their Super T CA is also as good if not better than the mainstream tire glue out there and you get more than double the CA for the same price as the stuff you get at the LHS.
Plane guys call it gap filling glue, same thickness and set speed as medium tire glue.

Good point! The DE rims are made for the SC8. Common sense would tell you... not me that the AE wheels are another choice :lol: Hope their not as flexy.

What are the benefits from running all the lightened drive train parts (diff outdrives, diff couplers, lightened center/front drive shaft)?

Besides a lighter rig you have less reciprocating mass in the drivetrain. Less power is wasted in the drivetrain.

So potentially better battery run times?

On paper yes, in real life unless you balance tires religiously and ensure there is reduced friction in all rotating components not a significant amount of run time gained. The benefit would be a faster spool up provided the tires weren't holding the drive train back. I would think it could increase in air throttle response though witch would be neat to try the difference.

Yesterday I ordered all the lightened drivetrain parts. Ill report back weight differences and any perceived :D performance gains

I got my kit last night and wow. Quality, fit and finish is like I never seen. Here's just a few I'm sure there will be many more as I update. They hit it out of the park with all the little things.

Smooth diffs , cross pins locate so ur not fighting them to line up. And I bet these don't leak.

When u tighten the blocks the arms still move free.

Turnbuckles screw into the ends firm enough where u can adjust them easy but they won't move. And ur hands don't hurt for three days after putting then together.

Two shims on the crown side of the diff and smooth and perfect backlash. Not one tight spot.

And I'm only 35% done with the build. Good job Tekno!

I'm sure I will have more to share after tonight.

Does the eb48 come with all the lightened stuff or is the chassis just a little lighter on the buggy? I just picked up one of these trucks, can't wait!

Viper VTX8...motor?
 

Coming from a SCTE/MIP...I have always owned Tekins ...RX8/4600.

New truck and going with a new power system. What motors are you guys running with the Viper VTX8?

Tracks will be from mid to large outdoors with med/high bite.

I just don't want to get killed in the slower parts of the tracks, but be able to move out when needed!

it doesn't come with the lightened outdrives, but what it does come with that the truck doesn't:

-machined towers
-aluminum shock caps
-aluminum shock cartridge bottoms
-aluminum hinge pin holders

that's what i can think of off the top.

about to lay down some paint on new body. White Outlines between flames and orange, white window boarders too Im thinking. The blue is fluorescent cobalt and orange is fluorescent as well. Like my avatar only with blue instead of the yellow.
