TEKNO - please start a new thread that can be managed as far as updates on the first post. Too much trying to look back 50/100 pages to look for part numbers and suggestions, this thread is exploding and original poster doesn't seam willing to do, my only complaint :)

I can't seem to find any of the AKA foams stand alone for SC, just every other car (and I tend to run the AKA's in all my other tires). Have others that run gold/clay compound tires found this to be an issue, and an insert that is actually available that lasts?

They are labeled for 1/8 buggy but those are the SCT inserts. Should not have a problem finding them. They are a must or you will have 4 flat tires in a couple days of driving.

Had to remove my barcodes and replace JC inserts with aka's. PM me if you want to know how to reuse both rim and tire.

Really track dependent to be honest. I would suggest seeing where you are topping out down the longest straight. From there, adjust to top out towards the end, within reason (track size here). Then, see how it feels around the rest of the track and check temps. Got this info from the late Big Jim. Other than when we ran boosted classes, it worked well for finding the right gear.

Or, if you used another vehicle on the same track, determine what its estimated top speed was. Then, set your gearing for that same estimate speed to get a starting point.

So does everybody prefer the hobby wing 4000kv or 4600kv for a med. high bite track?

was thinking 4000kv initially, but even on our tight 50 x 50 track, if that, the gearing range is such that 4600kv motor works fine.

If that is the case, not a bad idea to be honest. having a thread ran by an actual rep of the company so it stays up to date.

Only the original poster can add/change the first post , so that would mean rice_man would have to add all the info to the first page . It did make things easier for all the newbs that got the SCTE though and easier to find a specific setup or part .....

Personally, I like PL V3 foams - Pt # PRO6115-07 - as they fill out much better than anything else out right now. Now, if AKA made an SC specific foam like most everyone else, then that would probably be the ticket. :)

Had the same problem in the rb6 thread. The mods found out a way for another member to take it over so he could add all the info.

We're working on it. (first post or first page info, that is).

Great to hear Tekno, thank you! I would be happy to do it but should be someone tied closely to Tekno than I . I wasn't able to read for Saturday and Sunday and BOOM , 10 pages added quick. Since now everyone is starting to race it info will be flying in and question multiply

Thanks for the reply Danny -

It's not that I'm not willing to do it. I have already talked with Matt A. and he'll be providing me with the updated information.... just waiting on it to come in.

Could be worse, could have a vehicle that no information is being posted on anymore lol.

Are you using an rx8? If so what's it set at? What gearing?

Danny...if you need someone to possibly do this, we can talk about it...

Proline V3's are my go-to foams. It's what I run when I want a flat contact patch w/ tires like Barcodes. Some exceptions are Panther slicks (their orange foam is the best-fitting), and tires like AKA Enduros that seem to work better w/ the AKA inserts (rounder contact patch).

I have a pile of JC foams for free if anyone wants them. I don't suggest using them for tires, but maybe they make good floatation devices or something. Plus they smell interesting.

Proline V3 foams work great and they're WIDE enough for the barcodes. Also, make sure you have holes in your tires, it'll make the closed cell foams last much longer if you wash tires.
