Now that everyone has talked about current limiter, timing & gearing there is also one more factor and that is the driver. If you are smooth on and off the throttle them most likely your electronics will stay cooler but if you are driving eratic then your temps will be considerably higher.

I just read a couple reviews on both Pro4s. People obviously had different opinions, but most are saying they are close in performance, but the HD having lower temps. I know I couldn't go wrong with either, but I think since I'm running outdoors I'd be better off with the 550.

Have developed binding in steering at throw endpoints. Tried to look at it and opened the c hub and ai think that it might be warped. Anyone else have had this so I can troubleshoot easier. My friend had the tekno longer but has not the same problems. Shot some drylube in there end it helped some but ideas apreciated.
Also the ackerman plate flexes on the ends when compressing the tires together, bought the aluminium one and wait for it to arrive. This part should be standard. |

I've been running the HD since a week before it came out and found that 0 timing and 35% current limit, with 18t pinion is perfect in my opinion. I don't spin my tires, has plenty of grunt, gets to top end faster then the 4600, has all the power I need when I want it and is very smooth. And average temps are from 150-160. But anything under 200 is fine in a tekin motor, and that's from Randy Pike and Jim Campbell themselves. Choose what motor you feel comfortable with, I wouldn't wanna run anything other then the 4300hd, period!!

pretty excited worked out a deal with a guy to buy his roller
truck comes with Aluminum hexes Carbon fiber front shock tower 1.5 rear hinge pin brace serpent shock bladders tekno servo horn Does 300 sounds like a decent deal? It is a local guy and it was one of the fastest trucks at our track. |

The difference here tho is your driving style. Going right to the HD without any previous experience with this truck with a lesser motor will make tuning the truck much more difficult. You have the throttle experience and setup from the regular Pro4. You were able to dial the truck in on those settings, then when the truck was good enough, you gave it the hp upgrade.

See now my EB48.2 feels planted, now just trying to tune the 410 to make it feel a little more planted then it currently is. I changd the center diff out and that helped, now just going to trying a couple change tomorrow during practice. Trying to get the rear planted a little more, has a tendancy to wash out. Try changing shock position on tower and arm. I'm think maybe 27.5 for oil as well in the rear.
Current set-up for rear: Kyo Yellow (2.9) / 30wt Losi Oil / 4k Diff / 2.4 swaybar Tower Shock (3) & Middle Arm Tower Camber Link (3) and Middle on Hub |

It's funny that motors are the topic currently. I just took my tenshock sc411 out of my truck and put in a 4300 HD. The motor thermaled on me after about 8 mins of practice. I am running gen 2 rx8 with it and stock spur with 16t pinion. After the thermal I switched the 16 down to a 14 because I thought with as much traction we had on the track I was pushing the motor to much. It ran ok the rest of the day until the main. Thermaled again at right under 8 minutes. I have the rx8 set at 80% on the current limiter and 10* timing. What should I do. I'm lost.
