Has anyone actually locked out the suspension and weighed all four corners of this truck?

all depends where the rear is loose. if it's loose going into a corner, putting more weight at the back will make it worse (pendulum effect).

Shared body between SC10 and Tekno without cutting new holes:

This is using the front max offset mounts front and rear. The tekno is actually about 1/8" wider in back. If you do this, cut the body to fit the tekno. The sc10 2w mounts easily accomodate the slight width difference.

It will also share a body with the sc10 4x4 if you still have one of those POS's. In that case, the rear body holes should ideally split the difference, but its not critical.

I'm not trying to start a argument: But a Sc10 4x4 is not and never has been a "piece of shit". It's the fasted indoor 4x4 SC out there. It just allows for little to no human error. (a real racer will understand this and not tear it down. :P )

:: DISCLAIMER: I own a Tekno and sold my Sc10 4x4 ::

lol did you accidentally confuse the DESC410R and the SC10 4x4?

Just kidding, the sc10 4x4 had its high points.

And still does.

I have both SCT410 and SC10 4X4 and after lots of tuning I can run similar lap times times to my Tekno. Only difference is the Tekno only required about an hour of test and tune to get there, the SC10 4X4 was weeks.

On a side note, does anybody have any tricks to quieting down the SCT? The drivetrain is really noisy. I was thinking about changing the spur to see if it makes a difference but I have a feeling it's just the way it is. I thought maybe my motor had moved and the mesh was off but it seems to be just right.

Nope- it's just a byproduct of straight cut gears. But the good thing is they are stronger and more efficient. Albeit noisier.

Not sure if you noticed yet or not be both tekno rigs from my experience are much more efficient in terms of battery usage the ebug and the truck.

Its a shaft driven system....unlike belts sc10 4wd....its just how the Tekno rolls.

I figured that. It's weird being the loudest on the track, although, it distracts everyone else so it might be an advantage.

Just rebuilt and cleaned everything last night and installed the 4300HD, aluminum shaft and lightweight diff couplers (I'll do the diff. ouputs when I change the fluid). I can't wait to see how it runs now. I was having a little trouble getting over a double tabletop with the pro4 4600, I'm hoping the extra torque gives me the push I need. I also added a CC BEC as I think I was having a slight case of brown out with the 1258TG, which could have been the problem problem getting over the big gaps but you can never have too much power.

Nice Parts, are you kkpitrc? from Ebay? Saw that on the bay, but think that discounted shipping fee is better than free shipping coz if one would buy , certainly it would be the best option to buy more than one item. they should include an option for a discounted shipping rates aside from free shipping...

My SCT410 is pretty loud as well , as loud as my EB48 and I run the steel spur gear on the buggy  All of my buds are the same as well , maybe its the body acting like a speaker amplifying vibrations from the chassis/motor ?

I have looked it over a couple times and found nothing wrong .....

My sons Tekno V4 converted Ve8 sounds like a friggin jet going down the long back straight of the indoor track we race at . Almost every heat somebody asks "What do you got in that thing !) and its just a Castle Mamba Monster ESC with a 1515 2200Kv truggy motor but it sounds wicked when he gets on it .

symmetricon 04-26-2013 08:41 AM

mine is not loud.... wonder what is wrong with mine, lol?
