Will the 2017 xb4 chassis side guards work with the 2018 chassis, alu central bulkhead “low” and alu motor bulkhead “low”?

Will give it a try. It is indeed the 18. What has changed shock wise? The o-rings and spacers? The pistons?

New mold for the composite shims in the lower cartridge.

The pistons also have a larger OD.

Honestly didn't even realize that, thanks! Makes sense as they come off of the same mold. Tack on the reduced blow-by to the tighter cartridge and it all adds up to the much lighter oils most are using this year.

Thanks for a great racing program! First time racing on turf, switched the car over after racing in Phoenix the previous weekend and the XB4 was lights out. Just need a couple more practice days to get the hang of the surface and maybe a little bit of ESC tuning.

They should fit fine as long as there the xray pistons. I found the schelle/vrp pistons to fit much tighter inside the shock body then the 16/17 xray kit pistons. I believe xray has just made the 18 car's pistons a little larger in diameter to fit tighter inside the shock body. Since the schelle/vrp pistons are machined and not molded they are more precise and fit better.

Unfortunately no, because 2018 side guards have a vent for lower motor position. I am in the same boat as you because I have a pair of 2017 side guard...

Yeah, it will largely depend on motor and track conditions. If I geared my R1 V16 at 29/78 it would burn up...
