I picked up a set of the Mugen shock ends and they are 22.5mm long and seem to be ok, but the ball ends have a tad more slop than the stock Xray shock ends.

I would definitely go to the 12mm Hexes from exotek. Hooligan has them in stock.

Looking for a little set up help. I run my xb4 2016 on a loose outdoor track...actually a fairly tame 1/8th scale track. I am in the process of switching to the medium side guards, medium front and rear chassis braces and moving the motor/center diff to the rearward position. I have been running 2 dot spring but am switching to one dot per recommendations here.
My question is what are good front and rear shock oils and what diff fluids would be a good start (I am running a center gear diff)?

You could probably go down on center diff fluid to 500K compared to this one.

Well I have decided to run a FDR of 7.79 with an 81/26 for 13.5T SS 4WD buggy. What are you guys running? I'm kinda in the dark here! I have a Tekin Gen 3 high torque motor with Tekin Gen 2 ESC. My 17.5T 2WD buggy I'm running 50deg of timing and it's stupid fast and not coming off hot. What timing are you guys running in 13.5T SS?

26/81 should be good for Thornhill. I do run a motor fan. No timing.

I am really torn between what i want to get next. I am looking at the xb4 2016, dex410v5 or a 2wd buggy. For now, my question below
Has anyone driven both the xb4 2016 and the dex410v5? if you have, which would you consider to be nicer kit and better value? They are basically the same price, and i dont have a local hobby shop or a local track so parts availability is not a concern and i dont have the ability to drive other cars other than what i own myself.

the reason i would choose an XB4 is because with the XRAY you can change each diff in 4 screws each, along with many other things. the buggy was designed with maintenance in mind. this saves so much time and headache. and to have such a top notch buggy in all other aspects also be the quickest and best buggy to maintain, its a no brainer. get the XRAY you wont be dissapointed.
i would also get the xb4 over the xb2 (i have both). simpy because a 4wd buggy is so versatile and fast, if i had to choose one it would def be the 4 wheel. get the 2wd if you need to save money though. 4wd costs more up front and more to maintain. but again if you only have one buggy it could be fun to maintain just one 4wd. also with the xray you dont need many if any upgrades.
