[QUOTE=kdeleon;13726577]Slightly OT and not directed at raved007, but why do the scales do FL+RR vs FR+RL, instead of left side total vs right side total? Seems like you could make one side significantly more and yet the scales will show 50/50.[/QUOTE
Got confused too but i am working on it maybe i need to moved my ESC capacitor to the servo front. Currently ESC capacitor installed back of the motor.

I just got my scale in mail today. Xray should be here tomorrow. Early Christmas for me.
I bought the scale of eBay from a Hong Kong shipper. Took about 10 days but got it for $100 new. he's asking $119.99 obo. My first offer of $100 was accepted so he may take a little less.

XB4 14' shorty conversion
I have seen some posts talking about and showing pictures of the XB4 14' converted to a shorty pack. The motor is on the back left. I had this kit given to me as I am a 100% disabled veteran. I want to do this mod to my kit because shorty packs are cheaper than saddle packs. Can anyone please help me in this conversion. I am just getting back into RC after a 20 hiatus. Any written directions and pictures are greatly appreciated, and items that I might need to complete the conversion (longer driveshafts, or what ever is needed). I have had this kit for 6 months now and it is not completed yet. I have to buy pieces slowly because of the prices. I just received a servo that I bought. Just need the motor and batteries. I have access to a lipo charger. I also have the remote transmitter and receiver. Once again thank you for any help. Mike Christensen Richmond, Maine

Got my kit on Monday and got it together in shorty (a.k.a. rear motor) configuration. I also managed to get my painter to get the body done in a few days, he's the best! The 2014 body would fit with some modifications. The 2015 chassis is longer, but if you're using the body posts you'd just have to elongate the mounting holes on the 2014 body on both ends and trip the rear a bit. If you're using velcro you probably just have to trip up the rear of the 2014 body, but it will be shorter than the side pods.
The instructions on this kit were not that great. The manual jumps around from front to back if you're using the shorty configuration and it is confusing. The kit includes two sets of center drive shafts, one for saddle config and the other for shorty config. The manual incorrectly lists front vs. rear center drive shaft lengths for the shorty config.
Beside the obvious metal crown/input gears, shorty config option and center diff options, some notable differences from the 2014 kit include:
1. 2 hole 1.4 pistons up front, and 3 hole 1.3 pistons in the rear.
2. 3 dot front springs
3. Rear inner hinge pin holders are now the .2mm options
4. The kit does not come with the chassis rear transmission spacer.
5. The kit includes an optional rear top deck.
6. No more metal shock tower re-enforcements, both shock towers seem to be 1mm thicker than the old ones.
7. They went back to the smaller slipper spring. I liked the 2013 slipper better than the 2014, so I can't wait to try this one out!

Have a question or two about the '15 kit. I just built mine and the rear end is binding up pretty bad because of the rear camber link. Does it really swap sides from the tower to the hub? Also where can I get parts for this car? I'm looking for the aluminum shock caps and a few other optional parts from the manual and Amain has none of them and neither do Absolute Hobbyz.

The steel ring and pinion gears arrived in the mail the other day for my 14. Now that I have them, I'm sure the current composite gears will last a lifetime....

That was my issue. Got it all sorted out now. Thanks!
