the rx8 will fit if you cut the fan cover off. the old rs pro is good. the new gen 2 rs is not for 4x4 but will work with a 10.5. the newest rsx is the one designed for 4x4 buggy.
i have an rs pro with an 8.0 motor and am very happy with it. motor will get to 160 after 8 minutes on a large track .esc is warm. no fans or holes cut in body

If anyone is looking for a good medium to high bite setup try the Tyler Vik Reedy setup. Ran it last night on a high bite outdoor sugared track and my car has never felt that good.

I struggled with the stock setup. Car had way too much on power steering even on med bite. I've tried several of the setups on petit and with the help of one of the members here finally got the car to work for me. I'm 48 and don't have the fastest reflexes either. Biggest change are the springs. Stock setup is 2 dot front and rear. Once I went to 1 dot rear and 3 dot front the car started coming around. I actually run losi springs instead because my lhs had them in stock. Black front pink rear. So besides springs the only thing you'll need is the 1.4 rear sway bar.

I have heard really good things about his Reedy setup, and from the sounds of it he doesn't change much track to track using that setup. Another setup that is really good that I use as a base setup everywhere is Martin Bayer 2013 Euros setup with the biggest difference being springs and shock oils most of the time. In the front I have found that I really liked the 3 dot and 4 dot spring over the 2 dot spring.

Losi pink = 2.3lbs, pretty much the same as the stock 2 dot rear. If you use the standard TLR springs, you want to get down to 2.0lbs/1 dot, which is a yellow spring. If you have the TLR LF springs, try white = 2.02lbs.

TV's set up using 3dot/TLR Black = 4.11lbs - pretty stiff! But hey, it works. I notice he uses the stock 3 hole pistons and 40wt TLR oil, which I think is like an AE 37.5wt/450cst? 27.5wt TLR is some where around 30wt AE or about a 350cst.

I'm planning to run his set up as well, but using Avid 1.5+1.1 in front with CORE 450cst and TLR black, Avid 1.6+1.1 with CORE 350cst & TLR LF White.

Is it summer yet?

Did you mean to say TLR 27.5 wt is close to AE 25 wt?
I've seen a lot of conflicting info on different brand shock oil comparison, not sure what to think other than to stick with one brand and find what wt works for you....

so are you running the pinks and blacks that would fit on a xxx series or the tlr22 series? I happen to have both....tx again for input...

Default Saw my 1st XB4 on a track last weekend!

Saw the Xray XB4 4w for the first time in person on a track, all I can say is WOW! I was at the Jconcepts race at TRCR last weekend.

Tyler Vik driving the XB4- Fast driver and great car. Tyler was the only Xray that I saw at the race although Tyler said he saw 1 more X-ray there. Tyler laid the smack down on the Associated team and Team Losi and every other sponsored driver in the NW in 4wd mod buggy with the TQ. Tyler shouda won the overall but :
A1 Tyler made a couple of mistakes when he was leading
A2 Tyler led the race from bell to bell!!!!!
A3 Tyler led the race almost bell to bell but was hit some say hacked right near the end of the race....

XB4 2wd-Tyler was BQ. TYler led the B main race from started to almost the finish, but was hit in the rear and taken out with a few seconds left in the race. Xray should have been in the A main also.

I bought an XB4 on ebay last Friday as I was sitting at the track waiting for my battery to charge, then a few minutes later my RC buddy tells me there is an Xray driver there at the race .....Karma lol

What a great weekend at TRCR......soooooo fun, Great race.
