Xray XB4 thread

Not sure if this was covered on here or not, but I seem to remember some folks were trying to find hexes to allow the use of 12mm hex wheels. I'm in the process of building an XB4 and I would really like to be able to do this too. I have heaps of Caster wheels which I really need to be able to use.
Came across these on HK.

These are available in Blue, Purple, Red and Titanium and in 4, 5, 6 & 7mm thicknesses. It is a 5mm hole and they would appear to be identical 12mm versions of Xray's 14mm hexes. And they are cheap!
Only downside is that they aren't in stock in the UK, so delivery could be slow.

I don't think the shock caps have been available yet. Superior should have most of the parts, that's where I got my drive shafts.
For the hexs use the 1654 Traxxas hexs, $2 and work like a charm. They're plastic but when they start to wear just get some new ones. They also snap onto the cross pin so they don't fall off every time you change wheels.

I'm about 90% sure that the Serpent hexes are too narrow in the back, although they're about spot on in the front.
I haven't tried those Traxxas hexes yet, but they're only a solution to the rear. They'll be far too wide in the front. Although I haven't measured it yet, so don't take it for fact, I believe Serpent front and Traxxas rear are extremely close.
