The second one... TRA3768
Now on to a question of Transmitters. I have never been a fan of Spektrum, I dont know why I have just never trusted them. Ever since my flying days, planes mysteriously crashing or losing control and all with Spektrum. This is not my trying to bash on Spektrum just my point of view form my bad experiences. But I bought a DX3C because it was Cheap and came with a RX and it was better then the stock SC10RS radio. Now I feel like upgrading... Trying to choose between the Futaba 3PL or the new Airtronics MX-V or the older Airtronics MX-3x, or if I should splash out on RCmushroom and get the MT4. |

Matt, you're fast!!! Thanks. I've got 3 RC buggy/trucks I'm outfitting and learning as I go. I went with the Avids for one, but, man, those things are pricey when multiplied x3. :o
I think I'll try the Traxxas/Losi retainers for the other two. Thanks a ton!

Steering problem??
I just purchased a used SC10RS RTR. It's totally stock. I have what I believe to be a steering problem.
The steering, w/out the servo connected, has a nice little "notch" when the front wheels are centered. What I'm saying is, when the front wheels are perfectly centered, there is a little "catch" as though it lightly locks in place. Hope that makes sense. I've never encountered this issue with any other RC car I have. Is this a "feature" of the SC10? If it's a problem, which I think it is, what would the problem be? What would the "fix" be? |

The long screws that hold the bell crank to the top plate may not be screwed in all the way. This will cause it to rub on the chassis. Make sure these are screwed in all the way to avoid this.

Shagnat, try disconnecting things until you have isolated the problems. Start with the steering knuckles and work you way inwards. Is it possibly there is flashing on the back of the servo saver making contact with the chassis?

One of our local tracks just redid the layout and brought in new soil and it developed an awesome blue groove. I've never raced on one before so I had a few questions.
1. What's a good tire and compound for blue groove for the sc10? If its a soft compound, how do you afford to keep racing if you burn through a set of tires each weekend? :p 2. The setup sheets seemed to indicate that with high bite blue groove you would want to lower your roll centers. This really surprised me. Have most of you found that the quicker lap times can be generated with lower RC's? 3. The way this track chewed through the tires, do you practice with a hard compound and save the softer compounds for the racing? The groove was awesome and I would be more than willing to spend the extra cash on tires but if I am throwing money away when I could be running a harder compound I should give it a try. |
Top 3 in the series were SC10's. Prolite 13.5 blinky.

Ok my c clip on my front axle broke off when I was taking the axle out of the steering block to clean my front bearings and I tried it without the c clip and the wheel wont spin free so how can someone I forget who said it say it works

If some where wondering if the new Losi 22sct body fits on a sc10. Yes it does. My favorite body so far to come out and I tested it on my sc10. Here's pic. Yes, I have both FTsc10 and 22sct.

Can someone please expound on the virtues od the B44 hub conversion for the SC10? It seems to me I read about it somewhere but there are over 1000 posts already in this thread.
What is the advantage and how much of an advantage is it? Any disadvantages? Thanks for the continued assistance as I make my way forward. |
