Your bearings will last longer if you use a crush tube or the clip. However, you can get bearings of a whopping buck from Avid....

I have 8 pairs of DE rims. The only bummer is tightening the rim. The rim cutout for the nut is narrow and most nut drivers are to thick to fit over the nut and inside the rim. If you use the stock nut, you can still get a bite on the end of the nut without any problems.

heya,
Question. I am thinking of upgrading my kids t4 to an sc10. She has an old school FT T4 with threaded bodies, ball diff and all the things that came with a ft t4. I have some extra parts from my sc10 like body mounts and front shock tower. I even have a body she could use until I paint her up one. I know I would need the front and rear bumpers. I have sc10 rims and wheels, but they are hex, so I would need the hex conversion parts. I would need the longer chassis and the battery strap. Am i missing anything else?

I've got a couPle of those things that you'd need. Bumpers, battery strap more specifically. If you need them, send me a pm.

Which Avid spring are you guys running in your SC10s?

I think the most popular setup is yellow front/rear

ok, looks like my t4 to sc10 upgrade my kid kid is way beyond my hopes. I even found a local with a pink hello kitty sc10 body, lol. So next, I know the sc10 is aggressive in the steering department. But I will need to detune it for the kido. In her t4, I used an RtR mg servo. It is super slow and helps out with her over fast movements. I stiffened the front to make it push a little and the I limited max throttle to where she can drive it. But the sc10 turns way harder than a t4, so any tips on how to detune the sc10 for her? and will that servo hold up? I dont recall the part number right now. It was like $18 on tower hobbies. I am not worried about the jumping... I dont give her enough power to leave the ground for more than 2-3 inches, lol.

For BB Springs, the Avid Yellow all around work well if you're running Blue front/Green rears.

That's if you're running batch 1 rear springs. The batch 2 rates are different. Yellow front/white rear is what you want now

Ok good to know.

Don't have them in front of me; but the rears I'm running 1.99 rate; yellow.

The 1.89 rate, whites (same rate as AE Green) didn't work very well at all for me.

Edit: Ah, yes, batch 2 at 1.96/white will work very well in the rear now.

Yeah, Batch 2's are:
1.96 White
2.13 Yellow
2.29 Red

The way that i distinguished my batch 1's from 2's is i cut the little heat shrink into 2 pieces before putting them on the spring.

I'm currently debating whether or not I should spend the money on the avids. I'm happy with my Losi yellow rear/green front so far. Any benifit from the avid vs the Losi?
