U should be able to turn up the braking % thru the esc....and just tighten the slipper a lil and it will help it not slip so much

For racing under ROAR rules are +3mm offset wheels ok to use on the SC10 2wd?

Does anybody have a good setup for an East Coast outdoor track? Softer kinda loose dirt. Gets a decent groove but pretty dusty outside of that. Most setups seem to be for indoor/clay/hardpack and I've tried a few of those but just can't get the rear planted the way I'd like. I'm running reedy sonic 7.5, big bores, and can do either gear or ball diff. Any help guys??

IMO, it will be hard to get good traction with a 7.5....from my experience the larger motor causes way to much wheel spin, and if u loosen up the slipper it helps a little but not much, but this could be just me!:)

Yes with that size motor. I would turn down all the punch control and timing you can and your throttle curve also in the esc. Then I would try to get all the forward traction I can. now ate you a adhesive driver or a smoother drive is what you need to now. Cause some setup changes have there up and downs for Smoot versus aggressive. I would say I'm semi aggressive drive. If you have a 4 Degree tod block that will give you more forward traction but hurt your straightforward traction. Second thing I would do is try the number 3 pistion in the rear with 25 ae oil is what I use with gray spring. I use 27.5 up front with number 2 pistion. And heavy red springs I think which are pretty stiff. The stiffer front setup allows the rear to get more traction but it hurts some on power steering Turing and can make a slight push if your not carefull. I face on a very hard dusty and very blown out track with this setup. And I mean dusty to were you guess on what lined your cars is in sometime cause u can not see them sometimesand toss is on a large track that runs 1/5scale so that is how it Get blown out bad. I don't have My full set up on hand but ifand will not be able to get to it for a weekbut you can try some these if you want. I hope it helps

Hey guy I'm wondering what gearing you guys run. I run the stuck spur on my brushless 17.5 stock class with a27 to 28 pinion. Now this is stock so no timing. I have a fellow that comes to my track and for some reason no matter how many times he crashes he always catching up. And then on the straight he can catch me quick. Now we are thinking he might be running timing but not sure. I top of just before the turn on my 180 foot straight and I temp at 155f. Now im sure this is the sweet spot for my Novak. He also run a Novak too. I just wondering if ii change my spur to a lower count will it make it faster with out losing top end.i tried reading on gearing. But I could not find much on my question. just how speed and what you final drive should be. And according to those I'm right were I need to be at with there calculations.

i've used google and searched this thread and the 10.2 thread... does anyone have a good basic set up with Avid springs (im on V2 shocks)? I found an older yellow/yellow combo but i didnt know if anyone had any updates.

I'll share mine when i finally get it running and get some track time in.

Sorry bout late response, but stock guys gear high, like 69-75 spur, and 30-15 pinion, that could be the reason for geting smoked on the strait away !

Need help with SC10 2wd!!

Hello, I ordered a kmc wheels team associated sc10 2wd off amazon and I was driving it this morning and I stopped for a few hours and charged the battery and did some chores them went back to playing with it, and I have lost both my brakes and my reverse on the truck, and also when I shut off the truck it starts to rev out of control and I am forced to unplug the battery as I can't turn it off due to the rev.

I am thinking it's water damage to the esc and I don't want to replace the esc yet. But if I have to I'll got pick up the castle creation esc and motor combo brushless 3800kv

Addon* I lost it into the curb(more then a few times) which had water, this is where I am coming up with the water damage.

I have also searched and can't find anything here on it

What electonics do you have in your truck?

7MM STW 10-26-2013 07:59 PM

Esc- XP Digital SC2000
With XP TRS403-ssi 2.4GHz 4ch
Control is XP2G 2.4GHz 2ch radio system

If it is all the RTR stuff it may just be the ESC it self. Most of the time this stuff is hit or miss. Depending on how much water the truck was in, let it dry or pull the ESC and put it in a tub of white rice to dry the water out of it....then try it. May want to call AE customer service on Monday to get the ball rolling on a warranty claim. If your just bashing this truck, may want to look into a waterproof replacement ESC.
