Question for guys running short packs. What is your layout for added weight? I love the way it worked in my buggy and would really like to try it in my SC.

Good question,I've asked twice but no answer, there is a few guys at my track running shorty with no extra added weight from there full pack, they just went a little softer on oils and battery in the middle, there truck are a lot faster in the infield for sure, ill be picking up some shortys in the future

I tried a shorty pack and ended up adding a lot of weight to compensate for the lighter battery. Outdoors it doesn't really work, indoors it may. I went back to a standard weight/sized pack.

the only real difference after the changes I made sunday is your shock positions. Your running A Hubs correct?

I never tried the shorty because I have really never had enough traction for it. I guess if your running really high bite, it might be ok.

i got a sc10b. that ive raced for a couple weeks now. won both times. It feels good. running better times than i did with my losi scb for sure.

im running the Kody Numedahl setup with big bore springs(losi green and yellow). running 42.5 front and 35 rear.

i still know there is more in this truck. im pushing going into the turns causing it to go out a little wider than i want to. i feel it should be able to carry a little more speed though corners.

it jumps sweet.

what do you guys suggest. dry dirt track. bumpy. track was built mainly with 1/8 scale and 4wd sc in mind.

Moving the tops of the shocks out gives more steering, no?

Not specifically, what it does is allow the shocks to be more reactive. In short, the straighter up and down a shock is, the more reactive it is as it has a more direct effect on the arm. The more it's laid over the calmer or less reactive it is. So it's a matter of finding that happy spot. :)

The more laid down a shock is, the more pack it has.

Replacement screws?

What are good replacement screws for my SC10 2wd?

I seem to lose a few screws every time I go to the track. I hate bumming all the time and would like to buy some good screws for replacements.

Are Tonys or RC Screwz any good?

Tony's are good. I have used the RC Screws, but they seemed a little soft to me.

Check out the SC10B thread too but I would make sure you are running the right tires first and foremost. I know some have said the stock front tires are okay but I just can't imagine a stock AE short course tire that is worth a hill of fecal matter. From there its a matter of determining the magnitude of your push and where its occurring in the corner to figure out what to tune.

I'm finally getting around to the BB spring conversion and was wondering how the new 12mm AE spring rates compare to the older 10mm AE springs. Overall the question is how do the 10mm and 12mm spring rates compare? i would think the same, but that's based on nothing.

I'm currently running green (1.90 lb) rear and some white HPI
(fronts that i found at the lhs which i think are somewhere between blue silver, based on my crude testing methods lol. My question is, should i start off with the AE 12mm black (1.90 lb) rear and AE white (3.30 lb) fronts? watta ya think? Thanks....
