Thanks WC for doing more checking for us. I wanted some and ordered from Hobby People yesterday-sidenote I buy nearly everything from my LHS and have never bought anything from Hobby People. The tower is readily available there but now I see the arms are 'limited stock'. Thought I would pass that along to those searching.

I haven't been racing a whole lot recently. What is the hot tire for indoor clay? I have been running MC Suburbs 2.0's. Any other viable options?
Thanks |
Barcodes in the front, no wheel offset, and rebars in the rear, with offset 4x4 wheels.
|
Gold barcodes and a lot of our guys are having success with the Ions
|
I know this sounds weird, but I just ran a big indoor race and I ran M4 Blockades and my truck was dialed! Avid +3 wheels all around.

Has anyone heard anything about when the sc10.2 is being realased? Surely it's not to far away afte the B4.2 and T4.2?

No offence but but posting somthing like you did a d then saying I'm not saying the name of the shop is alittle strange, people want to support shops that parts in stock but yet you want to keep it a secret,I would say next time maybe just keep it to yourself.

The T followed the B by a few weeks so I would expect early March.

Curious to see if or what changes there will be for the next iteration of the sc10

Went and looked at those tires. What type of indoor surface did you run them? Do you run any of the other proline tires on your SC? |
Lets talk about tires then. :)
I run the stock tires on carpet(the standard SC10 tires not the subcultures) And I run the proline Caliburs(yeah I saved a set for the rear, or proline Ions.) Have not tried the Ions on carpet or clay yet, but im guessing they will work on carpet or oval type tracks. Caliburs I'll run outdoors, because that's the only tire I know of besides the stock slash tires that work outdoors. I wanna try goosebumps thou, im guessing they will work outdoors just as well as my caliburs. Whats the lifespan on the goosebumps. How many runs are you people getting? |
I have never run the goose bumps on anything. They are off putting to me. And I have come to the conclusion that JC SC tires suck on loose outdoors. At least at my track. The inserts are to firm. I was talking to a sponsored guy a few weeks ago. I was telling him that my kids truck just cant get locked in. He asked me what tires I was using and I told him green double dees. He said those should work fine as they are similar to the AKA Super soft Gridirons that he uses. Then I talked to a few more guys. they ere all running Gridirons. So I asked the sponsored guy to take a look at my tires, he was like wtf what are they so hard. I told him i was using the stock inserts. Then he handed me a set of gridirons he was was running and I was like, wtf that few like nice. Not too hard, not too soft. Mine felt like bricks. He suggested that I soak mine in water and the roll them out and massage them to try and soften them up. It was useless. These JC SC stock foams are just too darn hard for low bit outdoor racing. I plan to get some aka gridirons soon. Also, I about the wear. I asked him how long the super softs last. She said he mounted a set on this losi 4x4 when he build it 7 months ago and he still runs them. So yeah..... I assume in SC the SS tires still can get good wear.

Yeah im just gonna stick with what i got then. They work so I dont feel I should change them. The only tire that Jconcepts makes that is a good outdoor tire is the FLIPOUTS and they are only for 2wd mod buggies. If they could make flipouts in a SC tire I think they would be good outdoors. |
Some guys run the caliburs here. But they are mostly the novice guys. The novice guys like them, no idea what. All of the faster guys run gridirons. IMO the proline tires wear out fast... all of them. But their foam is softer and works nice outdoors. I tried some blockages and they felt pretty good.
