that is more of a body flex, not really a roll

Another thing that I did/bought was the Jconcepts carbon fiber brace for the rear body mount. It helped leaps and bounds with body roll. Something to consider I guess

that helped out that much?

I think that it did greatly. Before the body would roll and the Tires would sometimes hit the wheelwells. After putting this on, the weight shift from left to right dropped drastically and allowed the truck to feel less lazy in the rear end

Good tip thanks,I also want to try a rear swaybar
And see how that works

Would jconcepts goosebumps be decent on a clay track? I can get some premounted on hazards.

Jeff Werner 01-24-2013 12:51 PM

Thanks for the info guys. I am on a med to high bite clay track and was having the issues you both were discussing. My truck/body would roll way to much with the Big Bores. I have since gone to 5/3 and installed the JC body brace on the rear. I am excited to get to the track Friday night for practice. Cool to see I may be on the right path.

I have read about JC coming out with a front sway bar....I am excited for when it comes out. I think on med to high bite that the sway bars could really aid the SC10.

If its hard packed clay I would go with A bar type tire, ask around and see what the fast guys run

I saw the JConcepts front sway bar in mags last summer. When I called the said it would be out in a couple of weeks. 5 months later nothing. I just got the carbon front mount. Does anybody know how to color the edges of carbon fiber? I've seen it done in BRIGHT colors. Looks cool!

Carvers, Ribs type tires

Is it advisable to run carvers, (rib tires) on the SC10 2wd?

Or should I run the same on the front as the rear?

Or would another combination work better.

I run on ourdoor clay, hard packed but always with a layer of dust to a BIG pile of dust in certain corners.

I'd appreciate all input.

I'm having an issue with the Avid steering rack brushing against the top plate on my SC10 and B4.1 both. I guess I could dremmel down the top plate a little but though I'd ask here first if anyone else is having this same issue.

I notice that if I back off the 3 top screws a little bit it seems to help.

I have the same problem and never really figured it out. I had to just sand down the top plate a bit and back off those 3 screws just a bit. It has worked fine like that for a few months now

In my opinion rib tires work great for 2wd SC on clay with dust. I have more steering than I know what to do with, but in a good way. I leave them on the front and change the rear for track conditions. Your mileage may vary.

Keep in mind that they are not ROAR legal and some people think they detract from scale realism. Some tracks are or are not sticklers for ROAR rules. Check with your local track if they are allowed.

Thanks for the input. I have no intentions of running ROAR races, and my local tracks don't care to the best of my knowledge.

I do agree they look a little funky, but, I'm after performance!!

Picked up a D3 13.5T motor running with my MMP esc. Can you guys give me some gearing options of what you are running? Gearing, timing. etc? Thanks

Just recently got back into rc after a 10 year hiatus. Saw some short course trucks and knew I needed to give it a shot. Picked up a sc10 rs, and 2 2s 5200mah lipos. Mostly driving indoors on a carpet track, running schumacher mini spikes blue, red springs up front, blue in the rear, 45wt oil, and I replaced the stock servo with the savox 1258. The truck's very quick, at least for me, and now it handles pretty well. I've been trying to practice as much as possible before I get into racing, hoping to start racing soon.
