What is the opinion on the carbon towers? Strong enough to take a hit or not worth the investment?

That's a tough call, I ran them on my EB48.2, and started a crack in the front one. My fault from crashing. But I also broke a stock one. Again a hard hit. What I see is a good driver will run that kinda stuff with success. Don't hit stuff like myself. Its your call.

Hey guys

Looking for some advice ... so ran the car properly this evening for the first time. Setup is based off this one - http://www.teknorc.com/tekno5/wp-con...EDIUM_BITE.pdf

Although I am using Kyosho blues all around and also the stock ARBs (I do have the 15 carriers and the LRC). Car is nice! Running 2050kV on a 17T pinion and temps are around 190 ... it's ok I guess.

But I just think the rear end is a bit too planted ... I can get around the track in a reasonable time, but I just cant help but think that if I could get the rear to rotate a bit more quickly, I would be happier.

Tyres are Proline Blockade M4s and track is medium grip indoor loamy clay. Also running stock pistons ... Maybe I need to make a change there? Also middle and rear braces are off.

Particular bits I'm having issues with is the sharp left hand at the end of the short pit straight and also the 2nd left hander after the series of jumps in the middle of the course. Quickest way around that is to make the jump off the 1st left hander turn right straight away. I seem to be staring the face of the pipe a lot despite landing well.

I might try the stock 10* carriers. I think they might help the front turn better. I would think that you might want to keep the rear planted and make the front more aggressive. Somebody can correct me though, I'm no expert.
Lots of comments also that the LRC block makes the rear very planted. Maybe try the regular 1.5 block.

have you thought of less toe in and / or raising the rear link on the tower?

Shock oil will work, but for a more long term solution use green slime. Get the o-ring lubed up and put just a slight amount on the body when you're threading it. Makes it MUCH easier.

I decided to upgrade my shock bodies to the newer style that allow for the stepped upper shock guide to be used, in my case for the new delrin guides. The ones that I received have a lighter color anodizing than my original EB-48.1 shock bodies, but still have the smaller diameter shock shaft hole . I did some homework and found that there wasn't a running Part number change, I ended up drilling them out so they now fit the new guides, anyone else encounter this situation?

I am definately not an expert but I would say that the car actually doesnt look that bad. I would say throttle control. It wasn't too bad. It handled some of the turns excellant. Only pushed out when you came in too hot. I personally like the 8 x 1.3 pistons and stock springs.

Going to pick up a Tekin T8 Gen2 motor. What KV rating do you guys recommend for the EB48? Going to be running 99% outdoor so I was thinking a 2050 or 1950?

1900! The 1900 is more than enough on a big outdoor track, especially for a vehicle as light as the EB48. I've tried the 2050 motor and it's not nearly as smooth off the bottom as the 1900.
