Yep that's my standard motor for everywhere.

I like the torque.

Cool. I think I may wire up the one I got and give it a go then and see how I like it compared to the 1900.

Do you have experience with it versus the 1900kv motor? If so, what is your opinion on the comparison between the two?

I don't have any experience with it versus the 1900KV motor, but I bought an EB48.2 from Antimullet with a 1700KV motor and I love it. I raced it this past weekend with the wrong set of tires for the track and didn't have any problems keeping up with the 1900KV and 2050KV buggies. In fact, I finished 3rd in A main and it was the first time I had ran it. The torque is insane so you can gear it pretty tall and still have plenty of punch.

Cain, please pay attention to temp of esc and motor without fans for both of your motor tests. I'm curious if you can get similar performance with less heat due to lower rpm.

will do. I can say the last race I was seeing about 110 on the case of the VTX8 and about 160 on the 1900kv Tekin Gen 1 motor.

Motor I will be using is a Tekin Gen 1 1700Kv.

Funny thing is I seem to recall another driver at the track saying he was using a 1700kv motor on 4S and it rips.

Hmmmm. what are the major differences as far as performance between the T8, and T8 Gen 2? I see the Gen 1 all over the place pretty cheap so I was thinking maybe go with that in a 1700 and a 1900. What do you guys thing? How are the run times with the 1700 vs the 1900 on 4s?

Hey guys, just ordered thhe buggy and have some questions.

How is the stock suspension setup out of the box? Ive been racing 2wd buggy outdoor this year so i like a responsive car.

Also i ordered a hobbyking trackstar 2100kv motor to run on 4s, any pinion reccomendations?

Im also going to be running 2 shorty 4200 packs, you guys think this will be too light? The packs together weigh about 430 grams.

Thanks for any insight, im stoked about racing 1/8th! Ive been honing my skills with the 2wd with the hopes of not getting destroyed in 1/8 lol

The main diff for gen 1 and gen2 Tekin t8s is weight, rather than performance.

For the 2100 I would start with a 16t and check temps and adjust from there. I generally run 18t on my 1900.

+1 for 18t with 1900kv

Awesome, ive seen people talk about the lrc rear brace, kyosho springs and different shock pistons making it drive better. If they arent needed then i wont look them up and order them.

I would recommend the LRC. Stock springs are fine, you could get a softer and harder set for tuning. You could start with the stock pistons, but I would recommend the 8x1.3 CNC pistons.

Yes, all the way around. Some guys have used these to make 6x1.5, but so far I am liking the 8x1.3 setup. Here is the link:
