So if tekno decides to come out with another e buggy will they just have a update kit or come out with a entirely new car?

I was thinking the exact same thing earlier. I hope tekno makes it an option to update the car to a "2.0" version with just the updated parts. Depending how rapped out my car is, i would rather pay $150 to have a new updated car, than to spend another $500-600 on a new kit. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think kyosho has kits to update earlier tki's to the new spec.

Start power on the sctpro feels like it has the same effect as current limiter on the rx8. Typically run around 50% on current limiter on the rx8 and start power of 2 or 3 on the sctpro feels about the same to me. I don't miss the rx8 current limiter at all. I agree the rx8 has finer adjustment but I don't really find I need 100 steps of adjustment. The 7 steps on the sctpro is enough for practical application in my opinion.

Good to know. I just ordered the sct pro. Really looking forward to running it. Really good price too.

Does Tekno sell the shock bushings by themselves? If not what bushings can I get that fit?

Go with the 1900, it works well everywhere.

I was scanning the for sale section and found this.

http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...b48-buggy.html

This is one seriously nice ride, I know the guy and the buggy. Can't believe its still for sale. If your in the used market here's a great start.

I was gonna buy that one, I threw up an offer when it was a little higher price and ended up pulling trigger on a new kit

On a side note man this car went together smooth, only one hiccup and that was from me squeezing the shock oil bottle too hard.. What a mess.. Get to see how she drives tomorrow!

I looked for those too but didn't find them. Probably use fuel tubing.

My TEKNO EB48 - the idea was to get light 4S setup with low CG and perfect balance as possible. Looks like I did it.

About setup:

Motor HET Typhoon 700-60-1865kV is not meant for cars, but I like to experiment. Weights 280g and works extremely efficient in EDFs up to 6S. It looks like it is more efficient than Tenshock. You can see some measurements here http://www.ejets.at/ (you can calculate yourself how much kg of thrust per kW each motor is getting). Due to stiff (thankfully short!) cables I decided for "tape solution", not pretty, but I will see how it will work. Short direct soldered cables to the SCT PRO without mess. I have 16-19T pinions to play with.

ESC - SCT PRO - works nice with the motor - as most say - works like sensored setup. Without fan but with three extra ZLH Rubycon 25V caps and 10AWG wires on battery side and ultra short wires on motor side. Also "beefed" up servo cable to get as little voltage loss to the servo. Additionally supported BEC on the receiver side by 2 ZLH 10V 1500uf Rubycon caps as glitch busters. I mounted in on quite soft thick foam but the cables little tension twists it.. I will see how it goes.

Batteries - Gens Ace Shortys 4200mAh 60C - in a low CG config with custom made rear battery CF/aluminum holder (12 g). This required quite some thinking and rethinking but the balance , well I am satisfied
Also of course short 10AWG cables and low profile 4mm plugs for as little losses as possible.

Kit went together smoothly, I used aluminum screws and nuts, only don't like wobbling center shaft
I also got second EB48 here I am preparing for a friend, has the same problem.

I applaud your work, but are you sure going fanless on the SCT-PRO is a good idea? The body is very small and airflow is somewhat restricted. I'm wondering how fast the ESC might overheat?

It looks like you shaved 170g from mine in stock from, but I'm running a 580g 5200 60c battery, so I'm not sure you actually went down on weight after changing wires to higher gauge (good idea) and adding additional parts to hold the battery, etc. Tires and wheels play a factor as well, including about 120g difference between my lightest set and heaviest set.

Good job on the balancing. Please report back on how that works!

I was missing one bushing when I got my kit. I used fuel tubing and it works GREAT! As a matter of fact I am going to swap both 410's out with it. It fits snug on the post (won't fall off) and it just seems to set nice in the shock.
