Tekno RC EB48 Thread

As long as you keep the leads the same length shortening the motor wires shouldnt be a problem . I have done it to several Castle motors with no problems , just make sure the motor wires cannot touch and short out .....

Problem is the second I desolder the wires, I void my warranty. For now I'll just have to get creative and deal with the excess wire. Not happy about it, but oh well, absolutely can't argue with the price I paid for the combo when comparing it to the other options out there. Gotta sacrifice something, at least it's not performance.

I tape the batteries together in that staggered configuration. There is a small piece of foam under the front of the lower pack to keep it from moving forward.
I've been running my EB48 like this since last June and I haven't had any problems with the batteries moving around.
When I run 2 shorty packs my car is 7lb, 2 oz. My track does not require a minimum weight for ebuggy.

for you battery setup, are you using a spacer or some sort of guard to keep the top back from sliding into the bottom ones wires?
SNIP...
So, here is my question
For those running the vehicle in a 2S configuration, what is the running weight you are seeing assuming heavy electronics and what mods have you done recently to make minimum weight if you track requires it?
I am considering doing this with my EB48, set it up basically the same as my SCT410 but use the Tekin HD motor of something similar in power, can then just fully standardize on one battery type.

Just ordered a EB48. What size motor should I run in it? I am running 4cell and have a Viper VX8 for it and trying to decide whether to get the Tekin 1900KV or the Tekin 2050. I drove my friends Mugen Eco with a Tekin 1900 KV and it felt like it didn't have that much punch to it. It could be the way he had it set up I guess.

It was enough punch for this guy...

"All of the Amain Tekin powered drivers utilized the Tekin Rx8, Tekin T8 1900"
I have driven both in the same setup (eb48) and they feel about the same. The 1900 seems to brake better and is more flexible with gearing.Keep in mind the center diff oil makes a big difference on how punchy the motor feels.
I tend to think wye (1900) wound motors are a better choice than delta (2050)because they are more efficient because the poles don't oppose each other as the motor spins. You should get about 7% more battery life out of a 1900 which works out to about 1 minute on a 4000mah battery.

Just Kidding. A lot of the local fast guys run a 1900 because there's a little less wheel spin.
